Approximation of distributed delays [PDF]

open access: yesSystems & Control Letters, 2014
We address in this paper the approximation problem of distributed delays. Such elements are convolution operators with kernel having bounded support, and appear in the control of time-delay systems. From the rich literature on this topic, we propose a general methodology to achieve such an approximation.

On Stability Criteria Induced by the Resolvent Kernel for a Fractional Neutral Linear System with Distributed Delays

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
We consider an initial problem (IP) for a linear neutral system with distributed delays and derivatives in Caputo’s sense of incommensurate order, with different kinds of initial functions.

Qualitative Analysis of a Single-Species Model with Distributed Delay and Nonlinear Harvest

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
In this paper, a single-species population model with distributed delay and Michaelis-Menten type harvesting is established. Through an appropriate transformation, the mathematical model is converted into a two-dimensional system.

Global Stability Analysis of a Five-Dimensional Unemployment Model with Distributed Delay

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
The present paper proposes a five-dimensional mathematical model for studying the labor market, focusing on unemployment, migration, fixed term contractors, full time employment and the number of available vacancies.

A new framework for consensus for discrete-time directed networks of multi-agents with distributed delays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Copyright @ 2012 Taylor & FrancisIn this article, the distributed consensus problem is considered for discrete-time delayed networks of dynamic agents with fixed topologies, where the networks under investigation are directed and the time-delays involved

Periodic solutions to a class of distributed delay differential equations via variational methods

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2023
In this article, we study the existence of periodic solutions to a class of distributed delay differential equations. We transform the search for periodic solutions with the special symmetry of a delay differential equation to the problem of finding ...

Distributed storage allocations for optimal delay [PDF]

open access: yes2011 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory Proceedings, 2011
We examine the problem of creating an encoded distributed storage representation of a data object for a network of mobile storage nodes so as to achieve the optimal recovery delay. A source node creates a single data object and disseminates an encoded representation of it to other nodes for storage, subject to a given total storage budget.

Symmetric periodic solutions for a class of differential delay equations with distributed delay

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2014
We consider the nonlinear distributed delay equation \[ x'(t) = f \left[ \int_{t-1}^{t-d} g(x(s)) \ ds \right], \ \ \ d \in [0,1), \] where $g$ and $f$ are smooth, bounded, and odd and satisfy a positive and a negative feedback condition, respectively.

Integral Representation for the Solutions of Autonomous Linear Neutral Fractional Systems with Distributed Delay

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The aim of this work is to obtain an integral representation formula for the solutions of initial value problems for autonomous linear fractional neutral systems with Caputo type derivatives and distributed delays. The results obtained improve and extend

Modeling delay in genetic networks: From delay birth-death processes to delay stochastic differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Delay is an important and ubiquitous aspect of many biochemical processes. For example, delay plays a central role in the dynamics of genetic regulatory networks as it stems from the sequential assembly of first mRNA and then protein.
