Second-harmonic generation within a random fiber laser

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering
Optical fibers offer convenient access to a variety of nonlinear phenomena. However, due to their inversion symmetry, second-order nonlinear effects, such as second-harmonic generation (SHG), are challenging to achieve.

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Stabilization of Coupled Linear Systems Via Bounded Distributed Feedbacks

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2019
This article deals with a stabilization problem for a team of linear interconnected systems via bounded feedbacks. Effective approaches to stabilization of constrained systems from model predictive control theory are developed for the decentralized case ...

Animal‐Assisted Activities With Therapy Dogs in Pediatric Oncology: A Multicenter Survey of the Current Status, Implementation, and Challenges in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Animal‐assisted activities (AAAs) with therapy dogs have shown positive effects on patient well‐being and quality of life in various areas of medicine, including pediatric oncology. However, research on this topic is limited. The aim of this study is to present the current status of AAA in pediatric oncology in Germany, Austria, and

Impact of Japan's 2024 Physician Work‐Style Reform on Pediatric Hematology–Oncology: Educational Implications in a 2‐Year Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan's 2024 physician work‐style reform introduced legally binding limits on physicians’ working hours, but its impact on education and workforce sustainability in pediatric hematology–oncology (PHO) remains unclear. Procedure We conducted a repeated cross‐sectional study with structured quantitative items and free‐text responses ...

Distributed Feedback Optimisation for Robotic Coordination

open access: yes2022 American Control Conference (ACC), 2022
Feedback optimisation is an emerging technique aiming at steering a system to an optimal steady state for a given objective function. We show that it is possible to employ this control strategy in a distributed manner. Moreover, we prove asymptotic convergence to the set of optimal configurations.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Score distributions for Pseudo Relevance Feedback [PDF]

open access: yesInformation Sciences, 2014
Abstract Relevance-Based Language Models, commonly known as Relevance Models, are successful approaches to explicitly introduce the concept of relevance in the statistical language modelling framework of Information Retrieval. These models achieve state-of-the-art retrieval performance in the Pseudo Relevance Feedback task.
