Parameter identification in distributed systems
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1985This paper describes a method for the identification of the parameters entering into the equations of motion of distributed systems. Because the motion of distributed systems is described in terms of partial differential equations, these parameters are in general continuous functions of the spatial variables.

Systems with distributed parameters
1987In applied sciences, by systems with distributed parameters we mean systems described by partial differential equations. The heat diffusion equation (7.0.1) or the wave equation (7.0.2) are examples of such systems.

Parameter Identification Problem for a Class of Distributed Parameter Systems
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983Summary: The inverse parameter problem of the permeable law for the fracture reservoir with double porosity is of great importance in the exploitation of oil or gas. The total compressibility and permeability are the unknown geological parameters in the fluid motion equations. In this paper we discuss the inverse parameter problem from the point of the

Modeling Techniques for Distributed Parameter Systems
1982An approach to modeling distributed parameter systems is presented and briefly compared to a model based on the natural modes of the system. The system used in the comparison is ideally suited to modal modeling, and the purpose is to show that the Jacobi model can give comparable results.

Distributed Transfer Function Analysis of Complex Distributed Parameter Systems
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1994This paper presents a new analytical and numerical method for modeling and synthesis of complex distributed parameter systems that are multiple continua combined with lumped parameter systems. In the analysis, the complex distributed parameter system is first divided into a number of subsystems; the distributed transfer functions of each subsystem are ...

Systems with substantially distributed parameters
Annual Review in Automatic Programming, 1985In a system with substantially distributed parameters the state vector q represents a distribution density function over some parameter \(z: q=q(z,t)\). Derivatives exist only with respect to time t, whereas in spatially distributed systems derivatives exist with respect to more than one independent variable (time and space variables).

Identification of parameters in distributed parameter systems
2011This thesis deals with the identification of parameters in distributed parameter systems. Two sensitivity methods, namely; Meissinger's method and the method of structural sensitivity are extended to obtain the sensitivity coefficients of discretized distributed parameter systems.
