Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Strain Transfer in Surface-Bonded Optical Fiber Sensors
Fiber optic sensors represent one of the most promising technologies for the monitoring of various engineering structures. A major challenge in the field is to analyze and predict the strain transfer to the fiber core reliably.

A Counterexample in Distributed Optimal Sensing and Control [PDF]
This note exhibits that in a distributed multi-sensor, single-controller scenario, for the minimization of a quadratic cost function, linear sensing policies over Gaussian channels are, in general, not optimal. This is in contrast with the corresponding single-sensor problem, which does admit an optimal linear solution.

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.
