Lattice-Based Robust Distributed Source Coding [PDF]
In this paper, we propose a lattice-based robust distributed source coding system for two correlated sources and provide a detailed performance analysis under the high resolution assumption. It is shown, among other things, that, in the asymptotic regime where 1) the side distortion approaches 0 and 2) the ratio between the central and side distortions

Distributed Successive Approximation Coding using Broadcast Advantage: The Two-Encoder Case [PDF]
Traditional distributed source coding rarely considers the possible link between separate encoders. However, the broadcast nature of wireless communication in sensor networks provides a free gossip mechanism which can be used to simplify encoding ...

Repair Rates for Multiple Descriptions on Distributed Storage
In a traditional distributed storage system, a source can be restored perfectly when a certain subset of servers is contacted. The coding is independent of the contents of the source.

Source Modeling for Distributed Video Coding [PDF]
This paper studies source and correlation models for Distributed Video Coding (DVC). It first considers a twostates HMM, i.e. a Gilbert-Elliott process, to model the bit-planes produced by DVC schemes. A statistical analysis shows that this model allows us to accurately capture the memory present in the video bit-planes.

On practical design for joint distributed source and network coding [PDF]
This paper considers the problem of communicating correlated information from multiple source nodes over a network of noiseless channels to multiple destination nodes, where each destination node wants to recover all sources. The problem involves a joint

A coding scheme for wireless networks with multiple antenna nodes and no channel information [PDF]
In this paper, we present a coding strategy for wireless relay networks where the relay nodes are small devices with few resources, while the source and sink are equipped with multiple antennas to increase the transmission rate.

Distributed Joint Source-Channel Coding in Wireless Sensor Networks
Considering the fact that sensors are energy-limited and the wireless channel conditions in wireless sensor networks, there is an urgent need for a low-complexity coding method with high compression ratio and noise-resisted features.

Distributed Hypothesis Testing over a Noisy Channel: Error-Exponents Trade-Off
A two-terminal distributed binary hypothesis testing problem over a noisy channel is studied. The two terminals, called the observer and the decision maker, each has access to n independent and identically distributed samples, denoted by U and V ...
