NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Black-Start Coordinated Control Strategy of Optical Storage Microgrid Considering State of Charge Balance of Distributed Energy Storage

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
With the increasing proportion of new energy in the power grid, photovoltaic microgrids equipped with large-capacity distributed energy storage have the potential to support the black start of thermal power plants.

Node Repair for Distributed Storage Systems over Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2014
Distributed storage systems and associated storage codes can efficiently store a large amount of data while ensuring that data is retrievable in case of node failure. The study of such systems, particularly the design of storage codes over finite fields,

Scheduling in Distributed Storage Systems

open access: yes, 2023
Les bases de données distribuées de type clé-valeur, où chaque entrée est associée à une clé de partition unique, sont des composants centraux des architectures modernes, notamment grâce à leurs propriétés de passage à l’échelle et de tolérance aux pannes.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Mitigating Energy System Vulnerability by Implementing a Microgrid with a Distributed Management Algorithm

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This work presents a management strategy for microgrid (MG) operation. Photovoltaic (PV) and wind generators, as well as storage systems and conventional units, are distributed over a wide geographical area, forming a distributed energy system, which is ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
