The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

An evaluation of load balancing algorithms for distributed systems [PDF]
Distributed systems are gradually being accepted as the dominant computing paradigm of the future. However, due to the diversity and multiplicity of resources, and the need for transparency to users, global resource management raises many questions.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Flexible Symmetrical Global-Snapshot Algorithmsfor Large-Scale Distributed Systems
Most existing global-snapshot algorithms in distributedsystems use control messages to coordinate the constructionof a global snapshot among all processes.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Simulation relations for systems with distributed interfaces
In this paper we define simulation relations for distributed systems. Taking as starting point our previous work on the distributed testing architecture, we introduce novel simulation relations that can be used to define, given a specification, what a ...

Distributed Simulation of Heterogeneous and Real-time Systems [PDF]
This work describes a framework for distributed simulation of cyber-physical systems (CPS). Modern CPS comprise large numbers of heterogeneous components, typically designed in very different tools and languages that are not or not easily composeable ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
