Citation distribution of pure mathematics journals
Garfield defined the impact factor of a journal as the ratio of the number of citations which this journal receives in the course of a given year to the number of articles published by that journal within the two preceding years. We chose the field of pure mathematics for an experiment to see how impact factors change when calculated in another way. We

Mathematical models of nonuniform intrapulmonary gas distribution
The Bulletin of Mathematical Biophysics, 1965Mathematical models of nonuniform gas distribution in the lungs which assume a two-chambered lung to be ventilated through a third chamber, i.e. a common dead space, have led to diverging results. A breath-by-breath analysis of such a system results in a two-exponential solution whereas a continuous ventilation analysis gives a three-exponential ...

Distribution of mathematical software via electronic mail
ACM SIGNUM Newsletter, 1985A large collection of public domain mathematical software is now available via electronic mail. Messages sent to "netlib@anl-mcs" (on the Arpanet/CSNET) or to "researchlnetlib" (on the UNIX network) wake up a server that distributes items from the collection. For example the one-line message, "send index" gets a library catalog by return mail.

Mathematical Arguments and Distributed Knowledge
2013Because the conclusion of a correct proof follows by necessity from its premises, and is thus independent of the mathematician’s beliefs about that conclusion, understanding how different pieces of mathematical knowledge can be distributed within a larger community is rarely considered an issue in the epistemology of mathematical proofs. In the present

OCULAR TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION: A MATHEMATICAL PERSPECTIVE
Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology, 2009Mathematical modeling has proven to be a viable alternative for investigating the temperature distribution inside the human eye. This is due to its ability to overcome the limitations infrared (IR) thermography; the leading method in ocular temperature measurement.

Multiplication of Distributions in Mathematical Physics
2016We expose a mathematical method that permits to treat calculations in form of multiplications of distributions that arise in various areas of mathematical physics, starting with an analysis of the famous Schwartz impossibility result (1954), then a construction of products of distributions, with examples and references of use in various domains of ...
