The development of microgrids has emerged as a strategic solution to address the challenges inherent in radial distribution networks (RDNs). By integrating a microgrid system on the low‐voltage side of the distribution feeders, it enhances the flexibility, reliability, and efficiency of power delivery to customers.

Application of a three‐phase unified power quality conditioner in a microgrid
The UPQC system designed in this study used a series inverter to compensate the voltage balance sag–swell component, providing a stable voltage for the back‐end load. When the load was unbalanced, the feeder current was unbalanced. The shunt inverter compensated for the unbalanced current balanced the feeder current to improve power quality.

Integrate renewable energy system (RES) into grid‐connected load system in enhancing reliability and reducing losses. However, integrating these systems introduce power quality (PQ) issues, especially with non‐linear, critical, and imbalanced loads. Addressing this, a hybrid mantis search‐reptile search algorithm combined with a unified power quality ...

An improved model predictive control with Luenberger state observer is proposed for LC‐coupling hybrid active power filter. This article utilizes the Luenberger observer to mitigate the steady‐state error without additional sensors, and the one‐sampling‐time delay compensation is given for the digital control delay.

Here, a private investor, to enhance power quality, invests in active power filter units. Furthermore, the distribution network operator to coordinate and feed electric vehicles (EVs) decides to equip the network with smart parking lots. Total harmonic distortion, bus voltage profile, active power loss and energy not supplied are considered problem ...
