Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Enhanced Fault Localization for Active Distribution Networks via Robust Three-Phase State Estimation

open access: yesEnergies
Accurate fault localization is critical for ensuring reliable power supply in active distribution networks, yet conventional state estimation (SE)-based methods fail to differentiate authentic fault responses from measurement distortions due to ...

The Distribution of the first Eigenvalue Spacing at the Hard Edge of the Laguerre Unitary Ensemble

open access: yes, 2007
The distribution function for the first eigenvalue spacing in the Laguerre unitary ensemble of finite rank random matrices is found in terms of a Painlev\'e V system, and the solution of its associated linear isomonodromic system.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

A Large-Area and Nanoscale Graphene Oxide Diaphragm-Based Extrinsic Fiber-Optic Fabry–Perot Acoustic Sensor Applied for Partial Discharge Detection in Air

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
This article presents an extrinsic fiber-optic acoustic sensor applied for partial discharge (PD) detection in air. A Fabry–Perot (F-P) cavity consisting of a single-mode fiber (SMF) and a graphene oxide (GO) film, whose thickness and effective vibration

Attacking practical quantum key distribution system with wavelength dependent beam splitter and multi-wavelength sources

open access: yes, 2011
Unconditional security of quantum key distribution protocol can be guaranteed by the basic property of quantum mechanics. Unfortunately, the practical quantum key distribution system always have some imperfections, and the practical system may be ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Optimal decision method of demand side flexible resources as power system operation reserve based on master–slave game

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The escalating penetration of renewables and simultaneous source–load uncertainties are critically eroding reserve margins in modern power systems, leaving the latent flexibility of demand-side resources largely untapped.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Distribution system simulator [PDF]

open access: yes
In a series of tests performed under the Department of Energy auspices, power line carrier propagation was observed to be anomalous under certain circumstances. To investigate the cause, a distribution system simulator was constructed.
