Modelling and analysis of distributed software systems

Proceedings of the seventh symposium on Operating systems principles - SOSP '79, 1979
The problem of modelling and analysing the performance of software structures for distributed computer systems is addressed. A modelling technique is proposed which has many striking analogies with current techniques for evaluating hardware systems and yet focuses attention on the system software.

An Expert System Approach to Data Distribution and Distribution Analysis

1999
Research into systems aimed at transforming existing legacy programs to an equivalent form for improved execution performance on multiprocessor systems has led to the realisation that the level of parallelization expertise needed is similar to that of a human expert.

Distribution Systems Analysis

International Journal of Physical Distribution, 1977
This paper is concerned with the application of systems analysis to problems of physical distribution. The principles of systems analysis and the concepts of the systems approach are outlined. Physical distribution is described as a set of major subsystems.

An analysis of a distributed multiresolution vision system

Pattern Recognition, 1989
Abstract This paper analyzes a distributed vision system that uses a multiresolution imagery to achieve computational savings in dynamic scene analysis. The system basically contains a set of processes that asynchronously work on a pyramid image structure.

Analysis and synthesis of distributed system throttlers

2017 American Control Conference (ACC), 2017
In this paper, we investigate the performance analysis and synthesis of distributed system throttlers (DST). A throttler is a mechanism that limits the flow rate of incoming metrics, e.g., byte per second, network bandwidth usage, capacity, traffic, etc.

Some Analysis in Distributed MIMO Systems

Journal of Communications, 2007
The predicted capacity gain of a traditional co- located MIMO system is often severely limited in realistic propagation scenarios, especially when the number of antennas becomes large. Recently, a generalized paradigm for multiple-antenna communications, distributed MIMO, is proposed as a remedy. In this paper, through asymptotic large-system analysis,

An analysis of the proxy problem in distributed systems

Proceedings. 1991 IEEE Computer Society Symposium on Research in Security and Privacy, 2002
The authors look at the problem of delegation of rights or proxy in distributed object systems. Two signature-based schemes for achieving delegation which require different inter-object trust assumptions are presented. These schemes have been instantiated using public key and secret key based cryptographic techniques.

Distributional analysis of Ghana’s tax system

2023
In recent years, policymakers across the globe have become increasingly interested in not only the revenue consequences of tax policies but also their distributional impacts: that is, their impacts on different segments of the population. Such evidence can promote a more equitable and welfare-enhancing tax and benefit system, helping distinguish ...

An analysis of the five-wire distribution system

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2002
Most power distribution systems in North America employ a four-wire multi-grounded neutral design. A five-wire distribution design has been proposed and studied in a project cosponsored by EPRI, the Empire State Electric Energy Research Corporation, the New York State Electric and Gas Corporation, and the New York State Energy Research and Development ...
