Intercompartmental communication in senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Senescent cells experience structural changes in the plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosomes, nucleus, and cytoskeleton. These alterations disrupt crosstalk among cellular compartments, impairing vesicular trafficking, contact sites, and molecular flow.

Integrating Distributed Algorithms into Distributed Systems [PDF]

open access: possibleFundamenta Informaticae, 1999
A distributed algorithm is often used as a part of a larger distributed system. Usually, the properties of an algorithm are proven for the algorithm in isolation. Then, it is not obvious how the algorithm behaves when integrated into a larger system. In this paper, we present a simple technique which allows to derive properties of an algorithm which is

A survey on adaptive protection of microgrids and distribution systems with distributed generators

, 2020
Microgrids have emerged as a prospective framework that integrates renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, and loads. They can be addressed as a local distribution system with distributed generators (DGs) and have the potential to improve power

False Data Injection Attacks Against State Estimation in Power Distribution Systems

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2019
The existing research on false data injection (FDI) attacks against state estimation in transmission systems cannot be trivially extended to distribution feeders. The main reason is that a strong condition that requires the attacker to know the estimated

Optimal location-allocation of storage devices and renewable-based DG in distribution systems

Electric power systems research, 2019
This paper proposes a mixed integer conic programming (MICP) model to find the optimal type, size, and place of distributed generators (DG) over a multistage planning horizon in radial distribution systems.

Probabilistic Assessment of Power Distribution Systems Resilience Under Extreme Weather

IEEE Systems Journal, 2019
We present a probabilistic assessment of power distribution systems resilience under different weather conditions. It is based on Monte Carlo simulation considering failures and repairs models obtained in previous studies for the used power distribution ...
