Direct sums of reflexive modules

open access: yes, 1996
The problem of determining when reflexivity is inherited by direct sums of reflexive modules over finite dimensional split algebras is addressed. We show that this holds if the algebra is left locally distributive, a class of algebras which includes ...

On modules and rings in which complements are isomorphic to direct summands

open access: yes, 2022
A right R-module M is virtually extending (or CIS) if every complement submodule of M is isomorphic to a direct summand of M, and M is called a virtually C2-module if every complement submodule of M which is isomorphic to a direct summand of M is itself ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

A Site Specific, Clinical and Distributive Based Pharmacist Competency Workshop

open access: yes, 2007
Summa Health System Department of Pharmacy Services performs a workshop based competency program to assess the ability of our clinical staff pharmacists to perform both clinical and distributive functions that are required for practice in our ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

The distributive hull of a ring

open access: yes, 1990
Let R be a commutative ring with identity. An extension MS N of R-modules is said to be distributive if it satisfies the following condition: Mn(X+ Y)=(MnX)+(Mn Y), for all submodules X, Y of N.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Monoids with tests and the algebra of possibly non-halting programs

open access: yes, 2015
We study the algebraic theory of computable functions, which can be viewed as arising from possibly non-halting computer programs or algorithms, acting on some state space, equipped with operations of composition, if-then-else and while-do defined in ...
