MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROFITABILITY OF HUNGARIOAN DISTRICT HEAT SUPPLIERS BASED ON THE 2009-2017 FINANCIAL STATEMENTS [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Economic Science, 2019
In Hungary, district heating supplies 15% of the population which accounts for 1.5 million people. This activity is carried out by 89 companies. There are differences in the ownership background, in the technical structure, in the activities carried out ...

Predictive Control of District Heating System Using Multi-Stage Nonlinear Approximation with Selective Memory

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Innovative heating networks with a hybrid generation park can make an important contribution to the energy turnaround. By integrating heat from several heat generators and a high proportion of different renewable energies, they also have a high degree of

Carbon Handprint: Potential Climate Benefits of a Novel Liquid-Cooled Base Station with Waste Heat Reuse

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The novel life cycle assessment (LCA)-based carbon handprint indicator represents a potential carbon footprint reduction that producers/products create for customers who use the(ir) product instead of a baseline product.

Thermoeconomics as a tool for the design and analysis of energy savings initiatives in buildings connected to district heating networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
District Heating (DH) is a rational way to supply heat to buildings in urban areas. This is expected to play an important role in future energy scenarios, mainly because of the possibility to recover waste heat and to integrate renewable energy sources ...

Futures of the Finnish heating regime: actors’ views on the coexistence of district heating and ground-source heat pumps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The current Finnish heating regime is characterized by the strong position of district heating (DH). However, in recent years the DH regime has been challenged by the need to decarbonize energy production as well as intensified competition from new ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
