The effects of disturbance intensity on total bacteria concentration in the water within artificial streams [PDF]
Bacterial communities persist longer in sediment than in the water because sediments offer beneficial conditions for proliferation and formation of self-sustaining colonies.

Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.

Impact of sleep disturbances on outcomes in intensive care units
Abstract Background Sleep deprivation is common in ICUs and may alter respiratory performance. Few studies have assessed the role of sleep disturbances on outcomes in critically ill patients. Objectives We hypothesized that sleep disturbances may be associated with poor outcomes in ICUs.

Seed bank dynamics of Mediterranean pastures subjected to mechanical disturbance
Vegetation and buried germinable seeds were examined in Mediterranean pastures differing both in time elapsed since last ploughing and in intensity of disturbance. Densities of buried germinable seeds in the greenhouse were determined from 10 × 10 × 3 cm

Trampling Disturbance of Biocrust Enhances Soil Carbon Emission
Biocrusts play an important role in the carbon cycle in arid and semiarid ecosystems. Activities such as livestock grazing can disturb ecosystem functions of biocrusts.

Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Inhibition of dipeptidyl peptidase 7 impairs lysophagy in LLOMe‐treated HepG2 cells
DPP7 inhibition delays ubiquitin‐dependent lysophagy by attenuating ubiquitin accumulation and the recruitment of SQSTM1 and LC3 to damaged lysosomes, resulting in delayed clearance of damaged lysosomes and impaired restoration of lysosomal homeostasis. Created using FigureLabs (Certificate ID: FL‐PUB‐20260922‐Z99XNX).

Going viral − Virus‐targeting nanobodies for research, diagnostics and therapy
The increasing prevalence of viral diseases represents a major threat for global human health. Nanobodies, small binding fragments derived from camelid heavy‐chain antibodies, offer versatile tools for viral research, diagnostics, and antiviral therapy.

Assessing conservation of a tropical African estuary : waterbird disturbance, livelihoods, and ecotourism [PDF]
The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential costs and benefits of increasing conservation in the Sabaki River Mouth Important Bird Area. This was achieved by assessing the vulnerability of waterbirds to disturbance from human activity in the ...
