Disturbance compensation with a torque controllable steering system
Vehicle System Dynamics, 2006Via a conventional steering system the driver perceives desired and disturbing effects such as road feedback and resonance effects, respectively. They appear with overlapping frequency spectra within the driver's steering torque. This paper introduces a control algorithm that is suppressing periodic disturbances without affecting useful steering road ...

A joint torque disturbance observer for robotic assembly
Proceedings of 36th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002This paper describes an approach to achieve good trajectory tracking performance needed in printed circuit board (PCB) assembly by using a joint torque disturbance observer. By observing the difference between the reference torque and the output torque based on a prescribed model, the proposed disturbance observer immediately feeds back the discrepancy

In this paper, computed torque control technique is used for the tracking control problem of mobile robotic manipulator subjected to external torque disturbances. The proposed control allows the robot to follow the desired end effector and platform trajectories even in the presence of external torque disturbances.

Torque-angle characteristics of synchronous machines following system disturbances
Electrical Engineering, 1932A method of predetermining the torque-angle characteristic of a synchronous machine following a system disturbance is of importance in calculating the transient stability limit and in evaluating the effect on this limit of additional rotor circuits or of a change in excitation.

Torque disturbances and their effect on process control
Proceedings of 5th International Conference on Power Electronics and Variable-Speed Drives, 1994The paper seeks to demonstrate the deleterious effects that torque disturbances can have on an industrial process where close control of speed is required to maintain product quality. The paper also highlights the type of disturbance arising from driven equipment as well as those generated from a variety of different types of drive used for variable ...

Reducing Disturbances Caused by Reductions in Regenerative Brake Torque
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2011<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper presents a method to reduce the number of occurrences of vehicle deceleration disturbances due to the reduction of regenerative braking in the presence of wheel slip. Usually, regenerative braking is disabled when wheel slip is detected in order to allow the ABS system

Real-time path tracking with torque limits by using a disturbance observer
Proceedings of the 1994 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002When the minimum-time trajectory of a manipulator along a geometrically prescribed path is planned, considering the manipulator's dynamics and actuators' torque limits, at least one of the joints is at the torque limit. The execution of such a trajectory by a conventional feedback scheme results in torque saturation.

Switching Position-Torque Control for Series Elastic Actuators with Disturbance Observer
IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019This paper proposes a novel switch control for the series elastic actuator (SEA). This switch control provides more robust position control along with better impulse dissipation performance. SEA is an actuator technology commonly used in robotic applications that require safe and precise interaction control.

Transient damping torques in synchronous machines during disturbances
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1969During power-system disturbances, the relative speed between the resultant flux and the rotor causes eddy currents to be induced in the rotor iron structure and an induction-motor or induction-generator torque to be developed owing to the amortisseur winding; both these effects damp out the synchronousmachine oscillations.
