Nonlinear Control of Induction Motors: Torque Tracking with Unknown Load Disturbance
1992 American Control Conference, 1992Ortega and Espinosa (1993) presented a globally stable controller for torque regulation of a complete induction motor model with partial state feedback, i.e., no assumption of flux measurement. The result was established under the assumptions that both the desired and load torques are constant, that the former does not exceed certain bounds which ...

On electrodynamical compensation of a torque disturbing satellite orientation
2015 International Conference "Stability and Control Processes" in Memory of V.I. Zubov (SCP), 2015A satellite with electrodynamic attitude control system is considered. The problem of compensation of an external disturbing torque is solved. The optimization of control process in vicinity of programmed motion is achieved on the basis of control system without involving additional measuring devices.

Intelligent Controllers in Path Tracking of a Manipulator with Bounded Disturbance Torque
2013Sliding mode controller (SMC) is an effective motion control strategy for robotic manipulator systems, which can ensure globally asymptotic stability. However, SMC suffer from chattering problem and a-priori knowledge of upper bound of the uncertainty is required for its effectiveness.

Torque disturbance rejection in high accuracy tracking systems
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1990The possibility of rejecting torque disturbances that degrade the pointing and tracking accuracy of electromechanical pedestals and general two-axis systems used for target acquisition and robotics is discussed. Torque rejection achieved through disturbance estimation and compensation results in a vast improvement in pointing accuracy. For the class of

A Redundant Manipulator Joint Torque Estimation Method Based on Disturbance Observer
International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools, 2020With the continuous development of the robot industry, both industrial robots and collaborative robots are developing towards light type and intelligence. The core issue is that how to improve the dynamic control performance of robots and reduce costs. The accurate torque feedback control can be achieved by introducing a joint torque sensor.

Manufacturing Errors Effects on Disturbing Torque of Aerostatic Bearings
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2009In order to improve the drifting accuracy of aerostatic bearings, the manufacturing errors effects on disturbing torque of aerostatic bearings is studied by using the finite element method. The finite element mathematic model of the major influence factors of disturbing torque is established.

Rejection of nonlinear disturbance torque in servomechanism with repetitive control
IEEE 2002 28th Annual Conference of the Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 02, 2003In this paper, a repetitive control method is presented for the rejection of significant nonlinear disturbance torque in servomechanisms. The disturbance torque dealt with is assumed to be periodic in position, which is the main cause for the degradation of the system steady-state precision. A sufficient condition for stability is given.

Reducing Disturbances Caused by Reductions in Regenerative Brake Torque
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2011<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper presents a method to reduce the number of occurrences of vehicle deceleration disturbances due to the reduction of regenerative braking in the presence of wheel slip. Usually, regenerative braking is disabled when wheel slip is detected in order to allow the ABS system

Real-time path tracking with torque limits by using a disturbance observer
Proceedings of the 1994 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002When the minimum-time trajectory of a manipulator along a geometrically prescribed path is planned, considering the manipulator's dynamics and actuators' torque limits, at least one of the joints is at the torque limit. The execution of such a trajectory by a conventional feedback scheme results in torque saturation.

Switching Position-Torque Control for Series Elastic Actuators with Disturbance Observer
IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019This paper proposes a novel switch control for the series elastic actuator (SEA). This switch control provides more robust position control along with better impulse dissipation performance. SEA is an actuator technology commonly used in robotic applications that require safe and precise interaction control.
