The NLRP3 Inflammasome: Mechanisms of Activation, Regulation, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Diverse diseases converge on NLRP3. We depict a discovery‐to‐clinic track: high‐throughput/phenotypic screens, structure‐guided design, and modality innovation (allosteric inhibitors, interface blockers, degraders) deliver third‐generation, disease‐tailored NLRP3 control.

Identification of pathogenicity factors in the xylem-invading pathogen Xanthomonas albilineans by Transposon Mutagenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Xanthomonas albilineans is a systemic, xylem-invading pathogen that causes sugarcane leaf scald. Leaf symptoms vary from a single, white, narrow, sharply defined stripe to complete wilting and necrosis of infected leaves, leading to plant death.

Mycochemical Diversity and Therapeutic Potential of Hymenochaetoid Fungi from Central Asia: Regional and Global Perspectives

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, Volume 64, Issue 1, March 2026.
Central Asia harbors a rich yet understudied assemblage of wood‐inhabiting Hymenochaetoid fungi. This review delivers the first comprehensive synthesis of 43 poroid species representing 18 genera documented across montane forests, steppes, and xeric habitats.

Progress toward the Total Synthesis of Saudin: Development of a Tandem Stille-Oxa-Electrocyclization Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A diastereoselective tandem Stille-oxa-electrocyclization reaction provides access to the core of the diterpenoid natural product saudin. Additionally, this new reaction sequence was extended to the convergent preparation of related polycyclic pyran ...

Untargeted Metabolomics Reveals Organ‐Specific and Extraction‐Dependent Metabolite Profiles in Endemic Tajik Species Ferula violacea Korovin

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Ferula violacea Korovin, an endemic Tajikistani plant with purported medicinal properties, remains understudied. This study employs untargeted metabolomics to characterize the metabolite profiles of ethanol extracts and juices from F. violacea roots and seeds.

Differences in Phenylpropanoid and Reactive Oxygen Species Genes Drive Plastic and Adaptive Responses to Drought Stress Between Douglas‐Fir Varieties and Hybrids

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Warming climates bring significant challenges to the survival and growth of conifer species, yet the genomic basis of drought resistance is poorly understood. In this study, we used a common garden experiment to combine genomic, physiological and transcriptomic analysis to dissect plastic and adaptive responses to drought between Douglas‐fir ...

Responses of Root Microbiome and Metabolome Are Linked to Crop Disease Severity

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Plant microorganisms are an essential component of the host and perform critical functions in plant development and health. Emerging evidence shows that plants use their root exudates to recruit beneficial microbes that protect them against abiotic and biotic stresses, including diseases.

Pseudolaric Acid B Combats Drug‐Resistant Candida albicans Infection via Dual‐Action Mechanisms of Direct Antifungals and Vaginal Microbiota Restoration

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
We propose a novel therapeutic approach against fungal infection: Pseudolaric acid B directly eradicates C. albicans via Erg11 inhibition and uniquely, restores vaginal microecological homeostasis by promoting probiotic lactobacilli, addressing both the pathogen and the dysbiotic environment.
