Abstract Background Leaf shatter during low‐moisture baling and mold proliferation under high‐moisture conditions pose major challenges in alfalfa hay production. A proprietary propionic acid‐based hay preservative product, LZP, effectively inhibits microbial reproduction in high‐moisture alfalfa bales; however, its optimal moisture thresholds and ...

ABSTRACT Crop modelling is essential for agricultural water management but often relies on simplified water balance routines that limit representation of soil moisture dynamics. To address this limitation, we developed a coupled model that integrates the 1‐D Richards equation, solved using a finite difference method into the FAO AquaCrop.

The Effect of Diurnal Phase on Performance Physiology and Immune System [PDF]
The circadian cycle, although seasonally adjusted, consists of two phases: a nocturnal period of darkness and a diurnal period of light. Many parameters of human physiology display either a nocturnal or diurnal peak as seen in athletic performance ...

Unique characteristics of winter daily minimum (Tmin) and maximum (Tmax) temperatures and freeze days across the conterminous United States from 1952 to 2024 are examined. Results show spatial heterogeneity in Tmin/Tmax warming rates across the tropical‐temperate transition zone in the southeastern United States, and that the highest temperature on the

Climatology and Trends of Sub‐Daily Precipitation Extremes in Croatia
Sub‐daily extreme precipitation indices reveal pronounced spatial variability, with the highest intensities and frequencies across the Adriatic region and the highlands. Seasonal and diurnal patterns highlight distinct regional behaviour, including summer maxima over the continental interior and nocturnal or early‐morning peaks along the Adriatic coast.

Observational Requirements for Quantifying the Diurnal Cycle of XCO2 From Space [PDF]
Spatiotemporal variations in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) provide a means to quantify surface fluxes of carbon over a range of space and timescales.

ERA5 near‐surface temperature over South America exhibits systematic cold biases in daily maximum temperature and warm biases in daily minimum temperature. To address the continent's strong climatic and topographic heterogeneity, South America was partitioned into five topoclimatic clusters, and four bias‐correction approaches were evaluated. The Multi‐
