DIURNAL VARIATION IN CYCLING KINEMATIC
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2003Physiological and biomechanical constraints as well as their fluctuations throughout the day must be considered when studying determinant factors in the preferred pedaling rate of elite cyclists. The aim of this study was to monitor the diurnal variation of spontaneous pedaling rate and movement kinematics over the crank cycle.

The Diurnal Cycle in the Tropics
Monthly Weather Review, 2001A global archive of high-resolution (3-hourly, 0.58 latitude‐longitude grid) window (11‐12 mm) brightness temperature (Tb) data from multiple satellites is being developed by the European Union Cloud Archive User Service (CLAUS) project. It has been used to construct a climatology of the diurnal cycle in convection, cloudiness, and surface temperature ...

RapidScat Diurnal Cycles Over Land
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2016RapidScat, which is a Ku-band scatterometer mounted on the International Space Station, observes the Earth's surface in a non-sun-synchronous orbit allowing for different local time-of-day (LTOD) observations as the orbit progresses. The unique orbit and different LTOD observations provide surface observations that are composited to describe the ...

Diurnal potassium excretory cycles in the rat
American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology, 1986Diurnal potassium cycles (DPC) were measured in unanesthetized undisturbed rats fed a liquid diet and maintained in a 12-h light-dark environment. A fourfold step increase in diet potassium content increased DPC amplitude without altering phase. After presentation of the high-potassium diet, the initial adaptive increase in excretion occurred within 1.

Diurnal Cycles and Cannibalism in Planaria
Science, 1960Dugesia tigrina attacks Cura foremani under certain circumstances. The length of fast prior to the attack and diurnal rhythms are involved in evoking such behavior.

Renal diurnal cycle in hydropenic man
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1962Ten hydropenic male subjects, 29–60 yr of age and without evidence of cardiovascular-renal disease, were examined with respect to renal function during the period 8:30 am-10:30 am. No infusions were given and because of the oliguric state of the subjects, the utmost care was used in emptying the bladder by catheter and air washout.

Diurnal precipitation cycle in Austria
Theoretical and Applied Climatology, 2010A back-trajectory clustering method was developed to identify synoptic patterns associated with heavy precipitation in Austria. Extending this work from daily precipitation sums to accumulation intervals from 12 to 48 hours, an unexpected problem was encountered related to the observation schedule of data. To modify available data to our specific needs,

Diurnal cycle of tropospheric OH
Nature, 1986The hydroxyl free radical, OH, is sunlight's prime agent in maintaining the trace-gas composition of the Earth's troposphere, and at the same time serves as the catalyst responsible for many of the symptoms of urban and regional air pollution. We have used low-pressure fluorescence to measure the ambient concentration of this radical during two ...

The diurnal cycle of tropical convection
Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 1993The diurnal cycle of tropical convection is investigated with global cloud imagery constructed from 11μm radiance measurements taken aboard six satellites. Four harmonics of the diurnal cycle are resolved in the cloud imagery with about 50 km horizontal resolution.
