Solar‐Driven Ammonia Synthesis From Nitrate Reduction Paired With CO2 Capture for Sustainable Agriculture via a Robust CuPd Heterojunction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis of CuPd amorphous/crystalline heterojunction demonstrates >80% Faradaic efficiency for nitrate‐to‐ammonia electroreduction across wide potential windows. The integrated solar‐powered electrolyzer achieves 6% solar‐to‐ammonia energy efficiency at 0.4 sun, 6–20 mg h−1 CO2 capture rate, and stability exceeding 100 h.

SST Diurnal Variability in the Climate Forecast System and its Influence on Low Frequency Variability

open access: yes, 2011
The diurnal cycle of sea surface temperature (SST) is one of the fundamental periodic variations in the earth climate system. It is generated by the upper ocean's response to large diurnal change of the incoming solar radiation and other local ...

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Investigating the mechanisms of diurnal rainfall variability using a regional climate model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This study investigates the ability of a regional climate model (RCM) to simulate the diurnal cycle of precipitation over southeast Australia, to provide a basis for understanding the mechanisms that drive diurnal variability.

Beyond Percolation: Graphene‐Enabled Network Reinforcement Enhances Thermal Transport in Paraffin Phase‐Change Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Expanded‐graphite/graphene‐nanoplatelet hybrids deliver a near‐order‐of‐magnitude thermal‐conductivity enhancement in paraffin phase‐change materials. A microCT‐informed 3D modeling framework resolves the percolating EG backbone and captures sub‐voxel GNP enrichment, quantitatively linking microstructure to heat flow and revealing a graphene‐enabled ...
