Diurnal variation in corneal thickness

Abstract Corneal thickness was measured at three different times of day in rabbits. The rabbit cornea showed a significant diurnal variation regarding thickness. In most cases, the cornea was thickest in the forenoon, and then thinning followed. It usually became thinnest in the afternoon, but sometimes at about noon.
