We have studied possible aetiological factors in the large diurnal variation in peak expiratory flow rate seen in some asthmatics. This phenomenon occurred in both atopic and non-atopic patients. It could not be attributed to recumbency in bed at night or to allergy to the house dust mite in bedding.

DIURNAL VARIATION IN CYCLING KINEMATIC
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2003Physiological and biomechanical constraints as well as their fluctuations throughout the day must be considered when studying determinant factors in the preferred pedaling rate of elite cyclists. The aim of this study was to monitor the diurnal variation of spontaneous pedaling rate and movement kinematics over the crank cycle.

Diurnal Variation in Febrile Convulsions
Pediatric Neurology, 2010This study sought to determine diurnal variations in febrile convulsions, and to investigate whether such variations influenced the severity of febrile convulsions. The study involved 326 children, between ages 6 months and 6 years, with simple febrile convulsions.

Diurnal variation in prednisolone kinetics
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1983Plasma concentrations of free and total prednisolone were measured after oral doses at four time points to investigate the possibility of a diurnal variation in the drug's kinetics. There were marked differences in plasma prednisolone concentrations, clearance rates, and bioavailability of both free and total fractions at different times of the day ...

Diurnal variation of serum lipids
Journal of Atherosclerosis Research, 1965Summary Measurements of serum cholesterol, phospholipids and triglycerides as well as plasma free fatty acids (FFA) were made at eight selected times during a 24-hour period in twelve healthy men engaged in normal daily activities. Both serum cholesterol and phospholipids were quite stable during the day showing mean coefficients of variation of 4.2 ...

Diurnal variation in physiological tremor
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1974Abstract Postural finger tremor was measured in sixteen normal subjects at hourly intervals between 10.00 and 17.00 h. Order effects were allowed for by starting recording at different times of day. Self-ratings of tremor, anxiety and tension were completed after each recording.

Diurnal variations in cardiovascular integration
American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 1986Beat-to-beat heart periods and intra-arterial blood pressures were monitored continuously for 18 h in each of six monkeys over periods of several weeks. Means, based on 128-s averages of these functions, were highly correlated during early evening and daytime periods; however, heart period was poorly correlated with blood pressure during the evening ...

Diurnal variation of radon progeny
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2007The diurnal variation of the gross alpha (alpha) radioactivity in the air near the ground and the gamma (gamma) radioactivity emitted from the ground have been monitored in North-eastern Greece. Meteorological information comprising air temperature and humidity has been simultaneously recorded.
