Glanders: Past, Present and Future of a Neglected Zoonosis as a Threat in Veterinary and Human Health

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
This review displays a comprehensive overview of glanders, including aetiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, control strategies and ongoing eradication programs. It has also reviewed differential diagnosis and treatment both in animals and humans as well as organism's antimicrobial properties.

Aged Gut Microbiota Induces Mucosal Transcriptional Dysregulation, Impairing Immune Surveillance

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 5, May 2026.
Aging impaired intestinal mucosal immune homeostasis by altering the epithelial barrier, lamina propria immune cells, follicle‐associated epithelium, and gut microbiota. These changes, particularly the accumulation of pro‐inflammatory bacteria in the gut microbiota, are closely associated with dysregulation of follicle‐associated epithelium gene ...

Into the Darkness: Unveiling Unexpected Records of the Nonnative Millipede Prosopodesmus jacobsoni Silvestri, 1910 (Polydesmida: Haplodesmidae) in Brazilian Caves

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study expands the known distribution of the nonnative millipede Prosopodesmus jacobsoni in Brazil and reports its presence in cave environments for the first time in the country. Based on recently collected material and historical records, the species is shown to maintain stable populations in subterranean systems in the states of ...

“I Have to Work So Hard to Make Sure I'm Likeable While Getting the Job Done”: Examining the Politically Astute Negotiation of a Gendered Career by High‐Profile Female Sport Broadcasters

open access: yesGender, Work &Organization, Volume 33, Issue 3, Page 1026-1038, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Despite a rise in established, high‐profile female sport broadcasters, enduring and significant challenges remain for women pursuing sport broadcasting careers. Climbing the career ladder to high‐status positions requires more than just confidence and technical expertise; it necessitates strategic social skills that help female broadcasters ...

Global coastal wetland change under sea-level rise and related stresses: The DIVA Wetland Change Model

open access: yes, 2016
The Dynamic Interactive Vulnerability Assessment Wetland Change Model (DIVA_WCM) comprises a dataset of contemporary global coastal wetland stocks (estimated at 756 × 103 km2 (in 2011)), mapped to a one-dimensional global database, and a model of the ...

Lymphocyte Antigen 6G Mediates Vagotomy‐Associated Reduction in Body Weight

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 7, 15 April 2026.
Vagotomy was associated with lower body weight and epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) mass, as well as increased Ly6G+ cell infiltration in eWAT. This vagotomy‐associated weight loss was significantly attenuated in neutrophil‐deficient mice, suggesting Ly6G+ cells participate in the regulation of eWAT energy homeostasis.

Gauge Transformations and Inverse Quantum Scattering with Medium-Range Magnetic Fields

open access: yes, 2004
The time-dependent, geometric method for high-energy limits and inverse scattering is applied to nonrelativistic quantum particles in external electromagnetic fields. Both the Schr"odinger- and the Pauli equations in R^2 and R^3 are considered.

On regularity of weak solutions to linear parabolic systems with measurable coefficients

open access: yes, 2018
We establish a new regularity property for weak solutions of parabolic systems with coefficients depending measurably on time as well as on all spatial variables. Namely, weak solutions are locally H{\"o}lder continuous Lp valued functions for some p > 2.

Comparative performance of tuberculin and defined-antigen cocktails for detecting bovine tuberculosis in BCG-vaccinated cattle in natural settings

open access: yesScientific Reports
Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is a threat to cattle health and public safety. The current control programs are hampered by wildlife reservoirs and socioeconomic barriers. Vaccinating cattle with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) effectively reduces transmission,
