Transport and divertor properties of the dynamic ergodic divertor [PDF]
The concept of the dynamic ergodic divertor (DED) is based on plasma edge ergodization by a resonant perturbation. Such a divertor concept is closely related to helical or island divertors in stellerators. The base mode of the DED perturbation field can be m/n = 12/4, 6/2 or 3/1.

Radiation characteristics of detached divertor plasmas in W7-X
Detached divertor plasmas has been achieved by density ramp in W7-X. During the transition into detachment, the main divertor radiation region moves from the region close to the divertor targets to the region around LCFS.

Advanced Divertor Concept – RF Divertor
The application of radio-frequency (RF) forces to divertor plasma is proposed for the improvement of its relevance to reactors. RF fields are applied at the entrance of closed divertor rooms. Ponderomotive forces sustain high density scrape-off plasma which screens the penetration of neutral atoms into core plasma regions, and create positive ...

Modeling of argon seeding in ASDEX Upgrade H-mode plasma with SOLPS5.0
SOLPS modeling of Ar seeding in ASDEX Upgrade H-mode plasma shows that the divertor compression of Ar increases with the seeding rate when the inner divertor is detached and the outer divertor is attached.

Magnetic geometry and physics of advanced divertors: The X-divertor and the snowflake [PDF]
Advanced divertors are magnetic geometries where a second X-point is added in the divertor region to address the serious challenges of burning plasma power exhaust. Invoking physical arguments, numerical work, and detailed model magnetic field analysis, we investigate the magnetic field structure of advanced divertors in the physically relevant region ...

Evaluation of ITER divertor shunts as a synthetic diagnostic for detachment control
Reliable diagnostics that measure the detached state of the ITER divertor plasma will be necessary to control heat flux to the divertor targets during steady state, burning plasma operation. This paper conducts an initial exploration into the feasibility
