‘Sometimes, I would look at my books and cry because I felt like I was left behind’: Understanding the learning of Indigenous girls during the COVID‐19 pandemic in the districts of Chongwe and Solwezi in Zambia

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Grounded in principles of epistemic justice, this article examines the educational impacts of Zambia's COVID‐19 school closures on Indigenous girls in two districts and highlights community‐led pathways for resilience. National responses prioritised broadcast and digital delivery but presupposed access to electricity, digital devices and ...

Impact of divertor closure on power exhaust in negative triangularity in TCV

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Negative triangularity (NT) is a promising edge-localized mode-free candidate for future fusion reactors. In this paper, the impact of increased divertor closure on density-ramp induced detachment in NT is assessed in the Tokamak á configuration variable

Simulating divertor detachment in the TCV and JET tokamaks

open access: yes, 2004
Divertor detachment is currently assumed to be a fundamental pre-requisite for the successful operation of future fusion reactors. Only by partially detaching the divertor in the regions of highest power flux density can high performance tokamak ...

English teachers' journeys since the 2020 Iteration of Black Lives Matter

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The 2020 resurgence of Black Lives Matter (BLM) mobilised students in England to demand greater representation of racially minoritised voices in English curriculums—a call highlighted by stark inequity: just 1.5% of GCSE texts studied are by racially minoritised authors, despite racially minoritised students comprising 38.0% of the student ...

High performance power handling in the absence of an H-mode edge in negative triangularity DIII-D plasmas

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Experiments performed during strongly-shaped high-power diverted negative triangularity (NT) experiments in DIII-D achieved detached divertor conditions and a transient-free edge, showcasing the potential for application of NT to a core-edge integrated ...

The effects of gas puff locations and divertor closure on detachment conditions in MAST-U

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
The effect of different D _2 fueling locations and divertor closure on MAST-U is studied in detail with the SOLPS-ITER code to gain insights into detachment physics of H-mode plasma experiments in conventional divertor configuration.

UEDGE modelling of detached divertor operation for long‐leg divertor geometries in ARC

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, 2018
Simulations of the ARC scrape‐off layer and divertor configuration are carried out using UEDGE to perform the first power‐handling assessment for the divertor design. A convective–diffusive anomalous transport model is implemented in the code to reproduce the radial plasma profiles anticipated for the device at the outer mid‐plane.

Operations Research‐Based Formalisation and Design of Sustainable Reverse Logistics for E‐Waste Supply Chains

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates how a profitable, lean, and environmentally responsible e‐waste reverse logistics system can be designed using integrated Operations Research (OR) techniques. Addressing the growing urgency of responsible consumption (UN SDG 12) and the projected rise of the e‐waste sector to USD 137.60 billion by 2029, the research ...
