Fetal alcohol syndrome in dizygotic twins
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1975A pair of fraternal twins with stigmata of the fetal alcohol syndrome are described. Apparently differences in susceptibility to the dysmorphogenic influence of ethanol caused one twin to be more severely affected than the other one. Both infants are growing poorly postnatally, and both are at risk for retarded development.

Congenital biliary dilatation in dizygotic twins
Pediatric Surgery International, 2004Congenital biliary dilatation (CBD) of different types was recently noted in dizygotic twins. Our cases suggest the possibility of hereditary involvement in CBD. On the other hand, CBD discordance in six sets of monozygotic twins has been reported, which would suggest that the occurrence of CBD is not compatible with single gene control, although ...

Williams Syndrome in One Dizygotic Twin
Pediatrics International, 1991Williams syndrome is a disorder of unknown etiology with a characteristic facial appearance, vascular disease and infantile hypercalcemia. Most cases are sporadic. We report the case of a dizygotic male twin with the Williams syndrome. This appears to be the first report of twins with only one affected.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in dizygotic twins
Neurology, 1977A pair of dizygotic twins developed typical amyotrophic lateral sclerosis during adulthood. The concordance for this disease in these two patients of nonconsanguineous parentage with no family history of the disorder suggests the possibility of sublethal intrauterine injury to anterior horn cells.
