Prognostic Value of Pre-Chemoradiotherapy Pan-Immune-Inflammation Value (PIV) in Locally Advanced Nasopharyngeal Cancers

open access: yesCancer Control
Background To examine the prognostic relevance of pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinomas (LA-NPC) patients treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) definitively.

A Dual‐Bioresponsive and Programmable Microneedle Matrix as a Bioinspired Coupler for Orchestrating Diabetic Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This project developed a smart bandage‐like patch (a microneedle array) for repairing diabetic bone damage. It intelligently senses signals from infection and inflammation, then releases its medicines in a specific, timed sequence: first an antibacterial agent, then an anti‐inflammatory agent, and finally growth factors.

Nocturnal Intraocular Pressure Monitoring With a Soft Contact Lens Sensor for Glaucoma Management

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft contact lens sensor enables continuous, noninvasive monitoring of nocturnal intraocular pressure (IOP) under closed‐eye sleep conditions. By integrating a highly compliant inductive–capacitive circuit onto a commercial lens, the device achieves record sensitivity and stable performance.

Conductive Additives for Next‐Generation Batteries: Emphasizing the Potential of Bio‐Derived 3D Carbon Architectures at Electrode–Electrolyte Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
3D conductive frameworks can maintain continuous electron transport, mechanical stability, and interfacial integrity, helping next‐generation batteries operate more efficiently. This Review examines their relevance to Si anodes, all‐solid‐state batteries, and dry‐processed electrodes, and highlights bio‐derived carbons as sustainable, structurally ...

Multilayered Digital Microfluidic Chip for Cell‐Based Assays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A multilayered digital microfluidic (mDMF) chip architecture is introduced to improve throughput and robustness in cell‐based assays. By multilayering electrode components and dielectric layers on glass, this design significantly reduces actuation voltage, maintains reliability, and enables expansion of the operational area with minimum current leakage.

Comparing DMFS Scores and Recall Compliance in Infants before and During the Covid-19 Pandemic

open access: yes
Hypothesis and Objective: COVID-19 led to a decline in regular preventive healthcare utilization. This study hypothesized an increase in dental caries in infants during COVID-19 compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Distant Metastasis Free Survival (DMFS) in Breast Cancer Patients with Micrometastases (pN1mi) in the Sentinel Lymph Node (SLN): Results in 582 Positive-SLN Patients in a Single Institution.

open access: yes, 2009
Background:The risk of developing distant metastases (DM) in pN1mi and isolated tumor cells (pN0i+) patients remains under question. Does occult axillary node metastases is an additional factor for using an adjuvant systemic therapy (AST) in early breast

Solid‐State Nanopore Characterization of Dendrimer‐Peptide Conjugates Across Defined Peptide Loadings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Solid‐state nanopores are used to interrogate dendrimer‐peptide conjugates with systematically varied peptide loading. Single‐particle ionic current signatures reveal how ligand density modulates deformability, transport pathways, and electromechanical coupling during translocation.
