ABSTRACT Background In a recent opinion article, Pasda et al. indicated that the findings from our previous study (Guo et al.) were misleading due to the inappropriateness of the experimental work. The mentioned study focused on the effectiveness of four nitrification inhibitors (NIs) in reducing nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions as affected by temperature

Influence of DCD and DMPP on soil N dynamics after incorporation of vegetable crop residues
We have investigated the effect of two nitrification inhibitors, 3,4-dimethylpyrazole phosphate (DMPP) and dicyandiamide (DCD), on the accumulation of NH4+ Nand NO3--N after incorporation of cauliflower residues in incubation experiments.

Abstract Manure application to cropland stimulates soil nitrogen transformations, and the uneven distribution of manure in the soil creates organic hotspots, which may cause extended pulses of nitrous oxide (N2O) and di‐nitrogen (N2) emissions. Amending liquid manure (slurry) with a nitrification inhibitor (NI) can reduce N2O emissions, but the ...

Large Language Models as Calibration Agents in Hydrological Modeling: Feasibility and Limitations
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) represent the forefront of artificial intelligence, exhibiting substantial potential for advancing understanding and reasoning in complex Earth system sciences. Hydrological modeling, essential for water resource management and Earth system knowledge, predominantly relies on traditional calibration paradigms and ...

Effect of the nitrification inhibitor (DMPP) on soil nitrous oxide emissions and yield in a lettuce crop in Queensland, Australia [PDF]
The use of nitrification inhibitors, in combination with ammonium based fertilisers, has been promoted recently as an effective method to reduce nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from fertilised agricultural fields, whilst increasing yield and nitrogen use ...

Recent Advances in Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Strategies for Sustainable Rice Production
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a vital food crop, but producing it releases significant quantities of methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), which are both potent gases. Therefore, urgent action is needed to mitigate these emissions and make agriculture more sustainable and climate‐resilient.

Injection of slurry or digestate below maize seeds is a relatively new technique developed to improve nitrogen use efficiency. However, this practice has the major drawback of increasing nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions.

Tert‐butyl‐, methoxy‐ and methoxyethoxy‐ substituted dicarbazolyl anthracenes are designed and successfully synthesized. The emitter with tert‐butylcarbazole moieties exhibits the highest thermal stability and ionization energy. It exhibits triplet‐triplet annihilation upconversion confirmed theoretically and experimentally.

DMPP-induced relaxation of the guinea pig urinary bladder.
Dimethylphenylpiperazinium (DMPP) caused a relaxation of a guinea pig urinary bladder in vitro when a intraluminal pressure of bladder had been increased by physostigmine or histamine. The relaxing effect of DMPP was also observed in the contractions elicited by electrical stimulations.
