Changes in the relative copy numbers of chloroplast and mitochondrial DNA in the leaves of Vitis vinifera L. after high-temperature treatment in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2023
In the context of global warming, studying the consequences of increased temperature on agricultural crops becomes important for predicting the shortand long-term impacts on productivity.

Phylogenic study of Lemnoideae (duckweeds) through complete chloroplast genomes for eight accessions [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2017
Background Phylogenetic relationship within different genera of Lemnoideae, a kind of small aquatic monocotyledonous plants, was not well resolved, using either morphological characters or traditional markers.

Imaging of the Entry Pathway of a Cell-Penetrating Peptide–DNA Complex From the Extracellular Space to Chloroplast Nucleoids Across Multiple Membranes in Arabidopsis Leaves

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
Each plant cell has hundreds of copies of the chloroplast genome and chloroplast transgenes do not undergo silencing. Therefore, chloroplast transformation has many powerful potential agricultural and industrial applications.

SYNTHESIS OF CHLOROPLAST DNA IN ISOLATED CHLOROPLASTS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 1968
Chloroplasts isolated from Euglena gracilis incorporated both tritiated thymidine 5'-triphosphate and tritiated deoxyadenosine 5'-triphosphate into an acid-stable fraction. The incorporation was dependent on the presence of all four deoxynucleoside triphosphates and was sensitive to treatment with deoxyribonuclease and actinomycin D.

The relative copy number of mitochondrial and chloroplast DNA in young and mature leaves of different grape varieties [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2023
The copy number of DNA matrices of subcellular organelles (plants) can serve as an indicator of the intensity of photosynthesis and oxidative phosphorylation processes.

Turnover-synthesis of chloroplast DNA in developing chloroplasts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1978
The mechanism for the turnover-synthesis of chloroplast DNA in the absence of net synthesis during the chloroplast maturation in Euglena gracilis was determined. DNA synthesis was measured by incorporation of32Pi into chloroplast DNA. The density label, 15N, was incorporated to examine the mechanism of turnover-synthesis. The newly synthesized segments

Comparative analysis of the complete plastomes of nine Pimpinella species (Apiaceae) from China [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2023
Pimpinella L. is one of the large genera in the Apiaceae family. In a previous study, the molecular phylogenies of Pimpinella were explored using nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacers (ITS) and several chloroplast DNA segments.

Genome Sequences of Populus tremula Chloroplast and Mitochondrion: Implications for Holistic Poplar Breeding. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Complete Populus genome sequences are available for the nucleus (P. trichocarpa; section Tacamahaca) and for chloroplasts (seven species), but not for mitochondria.

Oryza sativa ObgC1 Acts as a Key Regulator of DNA Replication and Ribosome Biogenesis in Chloroplast Nucleoids

open access: yesRice, 2021
Background The Spo0B-associated GTP-binding protein (Obg) GTPase, has diverse and important functions in bacteria, including morphological development, DNA replication and ribosome maturation. Homologs of the Bacillus subtilis Obg have been also found in
