Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

An advanced‐fidelity CRISPR nuclease, FnCas9‐AF2, is rationally engineered to discriminate single‐base mismatches with unprecedented level precision. Integrated into the MUTE‐Seq workflow, FnCas9‐AF2 depletes wild‐type cell‐free DNA, thereby exposing rare tumor‐derived mutant DNA (a molecular “needle in a haystack”).

Inferring taxonomic placement from DNA barcoding allowing discovery of new taxa
In ecology it has become common to apply DNA barcoding to biological samples leading to datasets containing a large number of nucleotide sequences. The focus is then on inferring the taxonomic placement of each of these sequences by leveraging on existing databases containing reference sequences having known taxa.

This study examines how different laser‐patterned copper and brass surfaces, including copper coatings, affect the survival of vancomycin‐resistant Enterococcus faecium. Using microscopy and genome analysis, the results show that copper tolerance varies between strains and can increase after vancomycin exposure.
