From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

Rapid and sensitive colorimetric method for visualizing biotin-labeled DNA probes hybridized to DNA or RNA immobilized on nitrocellulose: Bio-blots.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1983
Biotin-labelled DNA probes, prepared by nick-translation in the presence of biotinylated analogs of TTP, are hybridized to DNA or RNA immobilized on nitrocellulose filters.

Isolation of anonymous, polymorphic DNA fragments from human chromosome 22q12-qter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A series of 195 random chromosome 22-specific probes, equivalent to approximately 1% of the size of this chromosome, have been isolated from a chromosome 22-specific bacteriophage lambda genomic library. These probes were mapped to four different regions

Mycobacterium tuberculosis sulfurtransferase SseA is activated by its neighboring gene product Rv3284

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Tuberculosis remains a global health challenge and new therapeutic targets are required. Here, we characterized SseA, a sulfurtransferase from Mycobacterium tuberculosis involved in macrophage infection, and its interaction with the newly identified protein SufEMtb that activates SseA enzymatic activity.

Affinity Purification of RNA: Sequence-Specific Capture by Nonionic Morpholino Probes

open access: yesBioTechniques, 1997
Nucleic acid isolation for amplification-based diagnostics requires techniques that do not co-purify inhibitors of DNA polymerases. Also, other requirements for an ideal sample preparation technology include ease of use, capability for automation, high ...

Cellular macromolecules-tethered DNA walking indexing to explore nanoenvironments of chromatin modifications

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Exploring spatial organization and relationship of diverse biomolecules within cellular nanoenvironments is important to elucidate the fundamental processes of life. However, it remains methodologically challenging.

Detection of polymorphisms of human DNA by gel electrophoresis as single-strand conformation polymorphisms.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1989
We developed mobility shift analysis of single-stranded DNAs on neutral polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis to detect DNA polymorphisms. This method follows digestion of genomic DNA with restriction endonucleases, denaturation in alkaline solution, and ...

Experimental and theoretical studies of sequence effects on the fluctuation and melting of short DNA molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Understanding the melting of short DNA sequences probes DNA at the scale of the genetic code and raises questions which are very different from those posed by very long sequences, which have been extensively studied.

Aβ42 promotes the aggregation of α‐synuclein splice isoforms via heterogeneous nucleation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aggregation of amyloid‐β (Aβ) and α‐synuclein (αSyn) is associated with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. This study reveals that Aβ aggregates serve as potent nucleation sites for the aggregation of αSyn and its splice isoforms, shedding light on the intricate interplay between these two pathogenic proteins.

Generation of digoxigenin-incorporated probes to enhance DNA detection sensitivity

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2016
Telomere length in humans has been correlated with cancer and age-related diseases. The standard method to measure telomere length relies on Southern blot analysis with radioactively or non-radioactively labeled probes containing several telomeric DNA ...
