Phase Separation, Material State, and Condensate Fate in Mammalian Autophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biomolecular phase separation has emerged as a key organizing principle in macroautophagy (hereafter autophagy). In mammalian cells, phase‐separated condensates not only serve as substrates for selective degradation, but also act as dynamic platforms for cargo recognition, signaling integration, and autophagosome assembly.

From Sensing Mechanisms to System Co‐Design: Graphene‐Based Sensors and Readout Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review establishes a unified PS–EQ–RF framework linking graphene sensing mechanisms, native electrical outputs, and output‐specific readout circuits. Voltage‐, current‐, resistance‐, and capacitance‐type sensing systems are systematically classified to guide architecture selection, low‐noise design, system co‐design, and practical integration ...

Decoding Viral Transmission Dynamics in Structured Populations Using a Microfluidic Herd‐Immunity‐on‐a‐Chip Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A microfluidic Herd‐Immunity‐on‐a‐Chip experimentally recreates structured contact networks to quantify viral transmission dynamics. By controlling susceptible, infected, and non‐susceptible populations, the platform reveals how contact topology governs the reproduction number, outbreak propagation, herd‐immunity–like behavior, and intervention ...

An Optimized Freeze‐Dry Multimodal Workflow for Sequential Micro‐CT Imaging, Histology, and Molecular Profiling: A Use Case in Human Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Optimized freeze‐drying and eosin staining deliver artifact‐free micro‐CT images of liver tissue at near‐histological detail, then hand the same specimen back for sectioning, staining, and sequencing. Fibrotic volume distinguishes normal liver from cirrhosis, while preserved RNA reveals inflammatory gene upregulation—one biopsy, three dimensions, and a

Single‐Molecule Imaging of Endogenous RNA Using a Miniaturized and Circularly Permuted CRISPR‐Cas13 Degron‐Masking System CDegSR

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDegSR, a new tool for imaging RNA at single molecule level in living cells was developed by researchers. Background noise was eliminated by protein engineering and making it degrade when not bound to its target. This allowed individual RNA molecules to be clearly imaged and tracked.

Distinct Cleavage Trajectories Mediated by DNA and RNA Substrate in Argonaute From Methanocaldococcus Fervens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study characterizes MfAgo, an enzyme exhibiting highly efficient DNA‐guided DNA and RNA cleavage capability. Precise RNA cleavage strictly requires dimerization to stabilize the PIWI‐loop region, while its robust DNA cleavage functions in a dimerization‐independent manner.
