Enoximone echocardiography: a novel test to evaluate left ventricular contractile reserve in patients with heart failure on chronic beta-blocker therapy

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2003
Background It has been suggested that an extensive contractile reserve identified recognised by means of dobutamine stress echocardiography may predict a better prognosis in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction at rest. However, the clinical

Functional Assessment of Myocardial Bridging With Conventional and Diastolic Fractional Flow Reserve: Vasodilator Versus Inotropic Provocation

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2021
Background Functional assessment of myocardial bridging (MB) remains clinically challenging because of the dynamic nature of the extravascular coronary compression with a certain degree of intraluminal coronary reduction.

Two-dimensional speckle tracking for the assessment of coronary artery disease during dobutamine stress echo: clinical tool or merely research method

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2015
BackgroundTwo-dimensional speckle tracking provides valuable information for regional wall motion abnormalities. The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of left ventricular longitudinal strain and torsion to diagnose coronary ...

ZBTB21 Is a Dual Suppressor of Pyroptosis and MHC‐I Antigen Presentation That Promotes Tumor Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.

Characterization of the Human Coronary Microvascular Response to Multiple Hyperaemic Agents

open access: yesCJC Open, 2021
Background: It is unclear whether the coronary microvascular responses to multiple, mechanistically distinct hyperaemic agents exert similar dilatory responses or share common clinical predictors.

Prevalence, incidence, primary care burden and medical treatment of angina in Scotland: age, sex and socioeconomic disparities: a population-based study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Objective: To examine the epidemiology, primary care burden and treatment of angina in Scotland. Design: Cross-sectional data from primary care practices participating in the Scottish continuous morbidity recording scheme between 1 April 2001 and 31 ...

Assessment of cardiovascular physiology using dobutamine stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance reveals impaired contractile reserve in patients with cirrhotic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, 2015
BackgroundLiver cirrhosis has been shown to affect cardiac performance. However cardiac dysfunction may only be revealed under stress conditions. The value of non-invasive stress tests in diagnosing cirrhotic cardiomyopathy is unclear.

Risk of Acute Kidney Injury Associated With Nephrotoxic Burden in Hospitalized Patients: A Scoping Review

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Limited evidence exists synthesizing the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) associated with the concomitant administration of multiple nephrotoxic drugs, and even less examining the concept of nephrotoxic burden. The objective of this scoping review was to (1) identify definitions of nephrotoxic burden; (2) methods used to quantify (use of calculations)

Dobutamine in paediatric population: a systematic review in juvenile animal models.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
ObjectiveAlthough dobutamine is widely used in neonatal clinical practice, the evidence for its use in this specific population is not clear. We conducted a systematic review of the use of dobutamine in juvenile animals to determine whether the evidence ...

Hemodynamic changes, plasma catecholamine responses, and echocardiographically detected contractile reserve during two different dobutamine-infusion protocols [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We studied hemodynamic changes, catecholamine responses, and the occurrence of improved wall thickening by echocardiography during two different dobutamine-infusion protocols.
