Unusual Side Effect of a Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Noninvasive Cardiology, 2017
Three minutes after the end of a negative dobutamine stress echocardiography (16 pg/kg/min), a severe ischemic episode appeared, with ST-segment elevation in inferior leads, suggesting a spasm on a normal right coronary artery. This episode was relieved by nitroglycerin.

Handgrip exercise associated with dobutamine stress echocardiography

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology, 2010
Stress echocardiography is today the best possible imaging choice in the field of noninvasive diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) and Dobutamine-atropine stress echocardiography (DASE) have been studied. Handgrip (HG) exercise has been rarely studied in stress echocardiography.

Dobutamine pharmacokinetics during dobutamine stress echocardiography

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1997
Many patients fail to achieve target heart rate during dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE). We evaluated the pharmacokinetics of dobutamine during DSE to determine whether patients with an impaired chronotropic response have higher rates of dobutamine clearance and consequently relatively lower plasma dobutamine levels.

Post-CABG Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography

Anesthesia & Analgesia, 2005
We have read the article by Adam et al. on propofol-induced injection pain with great interest (1). The authors have shown that plain Propofol-LipuroTM (B. Braun Melsungen AG, Melsungen, Germany), albeit in previous studies superior to DisoprivanTM (in many countries DiprivanTM; Astra Zeneca GmbH, Wedel, Germany) with respect to injection pain, is less

Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Cardiology, 2003
Aims: Myocardial ischemia in the absence of coronary artery disease is common in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) induces left ventricular (LV) new wall motion abnormalities (NWMA) in some patients with HCM.

Dobutamine stress echocardiography

American Heart Journal, 1996
Echocardiography is a very good technique for the analysis of total and regional left ventricular wall motion. It can be used, in conjunction with a protocol for either exercise or pharmacologic cardiovascular stress, to identify the presence and distribution of coronary artery disease.

Reproducibility of dobutamine digital stress echocardiography

Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, 1997
The aim of this study was to investigate the temporal variability and interobserver agreement of dobutamine digital stress echocardiography. We performed two dobutamine stress echocardiographic studies (dobutamine up to 40 micrograms/kg/min and atropine up to 1 mg) in 15 patients with previous myocardial infarction at a mean of 19 days apart.

Cardiac rupture with dobutamine stress echocardiography

Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, 1997
Dobutamine stress echocardiography is a safe method for the evaluation of coronary artery disease, myocardial function, and viability. The potential for cardiac rupture exists. Although clinical and electrocardiographic criteria may be helpful in identifying those patients at risk for cardiac rupture, the criteria are neither sensitive nor specific ...

Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography

Drug Safety, 2000
Dobutamine stress echocardiography is considered a relatively well-tolerated diagnostic modality, effective in the management of patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease. Adverse effects during testing are relatively frequent, precluding the achievement of a diagnostic end-point in about 5 to 10% of tests.

Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography

2008
Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) has developed over the years into a widely accepted routine, non invasive clinical diagnostic test for evaluating patients with suspected or established coronary artery disease (CAD). This technique was initially reported in the late 1980s [1].
