Dobutamine stress echocardiography in diabetes

The British Journal of Diabetes & Vascular Disease, 2005
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in patients with diabetes so prompt diagnosis and treatment of high-risk groups is essential. Dobutamine stress echocardiography is a safe, cheap and reliable method for coronary artery disease diagnosis and provides important long-term prognostic information.

Platelet activation during dobutamine stress echocardiography

American Heart Journal, 1998
Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) is a common, useful test for the evaluation of coronary artery disease. Two of 650 patients who underwent DSE at our institution sustained nonfatal myocardial infarction either during DSE or shortly thereafter.

Electrocardiographic response during dobutamine stress echocardiography

American Heart Journal, 1995
Studies assessing dobutamine stress (DS) echocardiography (echo) have included 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECG) in their protocol. We retrospectively reviewed the records of 76 patients who were referred for DS echo and coronary angiography to assess the incremental diagnostic value of DS ECG beyond the results of the echocardiographic images of the DS

Comparison of Adenosine, Dipyridamole, and Dobutamine in Stress Echocardiography

Annals of Internal Medicine, 1992
To compare adenosine, dipyridamole, and dobutamine in stress echocardiography with regard to sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and side effects.Crossover, blinded comparison, with coronary angiography serving as the criterion standard.U.S. Army tertiary care hospital.Forty participants, 25 with coronary disease and 15 without coronary disease ...

Myocardial infarction as a complication of dobutamine stress echocardiography

Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, 1997
Only few cases of myocardial infarction complicating dobutamine stress echocardiography have been reported. We observed a 42-year-old woman in whom acute inferior wall infarction developed 10 minutes after discontinuation of dobutamine stress echocardiography with up to 20 micrograms/kg/min dobutamine.

Hypertensive Response During Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1997
Among 3,129 dobutamine stress echocardiographic studies, a hypertensive response, defined as systolic blood pressure (BP) > or = 220 mm Hg and/or diastolic BP > or = 110 mm Hg, occurred in 30 patients (1%). Patients with this response more often had a history of hypertension and had higher resting systolic and diastolic BP before dobutamine infusion.

Dobutamine stress echocardiography in pulmonary arterial hypertension

International Journal of Cardiology, 2018
There is a growing interest in exploring the concept of right ventricular functional reserve in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. However, it is still unclear how it should be assessed. Aim of the study was to investigate the determinants of the changes in cardiac output and in pulmonary pressure during dobutamine stress echocardiography ...

[Indications for dobutamine stress echocardiography].

La Tunisie medicale, 2004
Since its introduction in 1986, Dobutamine stress echocardiography has become an established method for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. For its logistic, this exam needs the same equipment for the monitoring than treadmill testing. Its indications are codified and validated.

The technique of dobutamine stress echocardiography.

The Journal of critical illness, 1994
Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) can be performed safely at the bedside and offers more immediate results and lower cost than other pharmacologic imaging methods. Applications in the intensive care unit include detection of coronary artery disease and assessment of myocardial viability.
