Study on influencing factors of hydrodynamics based on AUV docking with conical dock

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part M: Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment, 2023
It is necessary to investigate the dynamic performance during autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) underwater docking to aid in control and to enhance docking safety. Therefore, in this study, the docking hydrodynamic characteristics (including the docking system’s streamline, velocity vector, and surface pressure during the overall docking process) of ...

Docking Studies for Multi-Target Drugs

Current Drug Targets, 2017
The most basic principle of drug action is found in the lock and key model, where the highest possible affinity for a target that also avoids side effects is desired. For many years this was understood as being "one drug, for one target, for one disease", however researchers began to observe that certain diseases are best treated with multi-target ...

A study on rendezvous docking control of HOPE

Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications, 2004., 2005
A study on rondezvous docking control of the HOPE is presented. The HOPE is the Japanese version of unmanned space shuttle, which requires the automatic rondezvous docking guidance algorithm. In this paper, the thruster combining algorithm is implemented by using linear programming method for minimum fuel consumption.

A New Flexible Protocol for Docking Studies

2016
A significant prerequisite for computational structure-based drug design is the estimation of the structures of ligand-receptor complexes. For this task, the flexibility of both ligand and receptor backbone is required, but it requires the exploration of an extremely vast conformational space.

Directed private study and the docks

Education + Training, 1975
The port industry frequently receives a bad press as there is a tendency to concentrate on financial crises and industrial relations problems, poor productivity and the like. This tends to obscure two facts: first that the industry has gone through more technological change in the past ten years than in the previous hundred — changes in cargo handling ...

STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND MOLECULAR DOCKING STUDIES OF THYMOGEN

Journal of Structural Chemistry, 2021
Thymogen (L-Glutamyl-L-Tryptophan, H-Glu-Trp-OH), immunoactive dipeptide, was investigated by molecular modeling methods. The conformational profiles of this molecule were investigated by molecular mechanics method. Then obtained most stable conformations of this dipeptide were optimized using DFT/ B3LYP level of theory with 6-31+G(d,p) basis set.

Designer Benzodiazepines’ Activity on Opioid Receptors: A Docking Study

Current Pharmaceutical Design, 2022
Background: Previous studies have reported that benzodiazepines (BZDs) seem to enhance euphoric and reinforcing properties of opioids in opioid users so that a direct effect on opioid receptors has been postulated together with possible synergistic induction of severe side-effects due to their co-use.

Disused docks as habitats for estuarine fish: a case study of Preston dock

Journal of Fish Biology, 1988
A netting and hydrographic study of Preston dock was undertaken between May 1987 and April 1988. Fish populations were assessed using Lundgren monofilament multimesh gillnets. The dock was a low‐salinity environment regularly replenished with estuarine water on spring tides.

Study on impact process of AUV underwater docking with a cone-shaped dock

Ocean Engineering, 2017
Abstract This study investigates the impact issues associated with docking systems when autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) contact with a cone-shaped and unclosed dock, which has been proposed and realised by most AUV docking systems. The study aims to understand the impact process in AUV docking with the dock and derive a number of probable ...

Directed private study in the docks

Education + Training, 1979
In 1969, the TUC representative on the National Ports Council's Standing Committee on Training raised the matter of education within the industry, suggesting that existing provisions were inadequate and that improvements should be considered. The only facility available at that time consisted of the Port Workers Education Scheme (PWES), which made it ...
