Low‐Content Co‐Modified Carbon Nitride With Co‐N Bond as an Efficient and Stable Catalyst for Electrocatalytic Oxidation of 5‐Hydroxymethylfurfural

open access: yesEcoEnergy, Volume 3, Issue 4, December 2025.
Low‐content Co‐modified CN with a Co‐N bond was prepared. Formation of the Co‐N bond increased the electron transfer rate and promoted adsorption of HMF; thus, excellent FDCA yield and stability in 10 mM HMF were achieved after ML optimization, and superior FDCA recovery yield was obtained in PVEC system with 100 mM HMF.

Propagation of polarized light in birefringent turbid media: time-resolved simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A Monte Carlo model was used to analyze the propagation of polarized light in linearly birefringent turbid media, such as fibrous tissues. Linearly and circularly polarized light sources were used to demonstrate the change of polarizations in turbid ...

Adding abiraterone or docetaxel to long-term hormone therapy for prostate cancer: directly randomised data from the STAMPEDE multi-arm, multi-stage platform protocol

open access: yesAnnals of Oncology, 2018
Background Adding abiraterone acetate with prednisolone (AAP) or docetaxel with prednisolone (DocP) to standard-of-care (SOC) each improved survival in systemic therapy for advanced or metastatic prostate cancer: evaluation of drug efficacy: a multi-arm ...

Intuitive representation of photopolarimetric data using the polarization ellipse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Photopolarimetry is the spatial characterization of light polarization. Unlike intensity or wavelength, we are largely insensitive to polarization and therefore find it hard to explore the multidimensional data that photopolarimetry produces (two spatial

Mobilidade diafragmática direita e esquerda em indivíduos saudáveis e na doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica

open access: yesFisioterapia e Pesquisa, 2018

Omnidirectional Circularly Polarized Thermal Radiation Enabled by Chiral Metasurface

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
Designing symmetry‐broken metasurfaces with both high circular dichroism and practical manufacturability remains challenging. Here, a mid‐infrared chiral metasurface with spin‐selective absorptivity induced by localized resonance enhancement is proposed, which has strong angle‐robustness, and the net optical helicity reaches 54% of the fundamental ...

Rapid Charge Extraction via Hole and Electron Transfer Layers on Cu2O Photocathode for Stable and Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 40, October 27, 2025.
A simple strategy is developed to construct a unique “sandwich” structure of FeOOH/Cu2O/ZnO composite photocathode. FeOOH as HTL and ZnO as ETL promote the separation of photon‐generated carriers, reduce reaction energy barrier, and enhance the HER kinetic.

Photosynthetic Biomimetic System: Nickel Phthalocyanine and Biomass‐Derived Carbon Quantum Dots for Enhanced Water Oxidation

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 20, October 20, 2025.
A biomimetic system integrating Ni(II) phthalocyanine‐tetrasulfonic acid with sugarcane‐derived carbon quantum dots significantly enhances photoelectrochemical water oxidation. The CQDs improve light harvesting and facilitate electron transfer, resulting in higher photocurrent density, improved stability, and reduced overpotential.
