A Method for Exporting Relational Schema into Document Type Definition
A method is proposed for publishing relational data into extensional markup language (XML). First, the characteristics of relational schemas represented by Entity-Relation (E-R) diagrams and XML document type definitions (DTDs) are analyzed. Secondly, the corresponding mapping rules are proposed.

The Development and Structure of the Encoded Archival Description (EAD) Document Type Definition
SUMMARY Although there has been recent speculation about applying the Encoded Archival Description (EAD) Document Type Definition (DTD) to a host of descriptive outputs, including catalog records and subject guides, its perceived need, design, and development emerged from the American archival community's focus on that special subset of finding aids ...

Document Type Definition (DTD)
Document Type Definitions (DTDs) are schemas that describe the structure and, to a limited extent, the content of Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) documents. At its inception, the XML standard inherited the DTD from SGML as its only schema language. Many alternative schema languages have subsequently been

DTD (document type definition) declarations exposed in XSLT
The XML specification defines a syntax for, and semantics for, a document type definition (DTD). An XML document can optionally reference a DTD, which it does by means of a document type declaration. The DTD may contain constraints on the elements that can be found in the XML document, and what attributes they may contain.

Harmonizing Document Type Definitions for Corporate Environmental Reports
Corporate environmental reporting using the Internet is a rapidly emerging and increasingly popular method. Despite the considerable progress companies have made recently, exploitation of the whole range of benefits of this computer-based method is still at a premature stage, especially in terms of automated production and customized provision of ...

Enhancing semistructured data mediators with document type definitions
Mediation is an important application of XML. The MIX mediator uses Document Type Definitions (DTDs) to assist the user in query formulation and query processors in running queries more efficiently. We provide an algorithm for inferring the view DTD from the view definition and the source DTDs.

DICOM structured report document type definition
IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine, 2003The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard recently introduced rules for the encoding, transmission and storage of the structured diagnostic report. This medical document can be stored and communicated with the images. It has a structure and may contain text, with links to other data such as images, waveforms and spatial or ...

XML query processing using document type definitions
As eXtensible Markup Language (XML) has become an emerging standard for information exchange on the World Wide Web, it has gained attention in database communities to extract information from XML seen as a database model. Data in XML can be mapped to a semistructured data model based on edge-labeled graph, and queries can be processed against it. Here,

Extracting Minimum Length Document Type Definitions Is NP-Hard
XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is becoming more and more popular. Since not all XML documents come with a (proper) accompanying Document Type Descriptors (DTD), it is a challenge to find “good” DTDs automatically. Note that many optimization procedures rely on being given a well-fitting DTD to work properly.
