An Improvement to the Domain Adaptation Bound in a PAC-Bayesian context

open access: yes, 2014
This paper provides a theoretical analysis of domain adaptation based on the PAC-Bayesian theory. We propose an improvement of the previous domain adaptation bound obtained by Germain et al. in two ways. We first give another generalization bound tighter

Federated Domain Generalization with Domain-specific Soft Prompts Generation

open access: yes
Prompt learning has become an efficient paradigm for adapting CLIP to downstream tasks. Compared with traditional fine-tuning, prompt learning optimizes a few parameters yet yields highly competitive results, especially appealing in federated learning for computational efficiency. engendering domain shift among clients and posing a formidable challenge

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Domain-Independent Gear Pitting Fault Diagnosis Using Transformer Encoder and LinSoftmax

open access: yesBig Data Mining and Analytics
Gear pitting fault is a common issue in gear systems, affecting transmission efficiency and potentially leading to severe equipment shutdowns. Effective diagnosis enhances reliability, reduces maintenance costs, and extends equipment lifespan.

On the fractional domain generalization of memristive parametric oscillators

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2019
In this research, we generalize a family of electronic parametric oscillators in the fractional domain by using a state of the art circuit element namely fractional memristor. Such family of parametric oscillators is the memristor based Wien family which

Constraining generalisation in artificial language learning : children are rational too [PDF]

open access: yes
Successful language acquisition involves generalization, but learners must balance this against the acquisition of lexical constraints. Examples occur throughout language. For example, English native speakers know that certain noun-adjective combinations

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Generative Classifier for Domain Generalization

open access: yes
Domain generalization (DG) aims to improve the generalizability of computer vision models toward distribution shifts. The mainstream DG methods focus on learning domain invariance, however, such methods overlook the potential inherent in domain-specific information.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting
