Development of Magnetic Microwires for Magnetic Sensor Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Thin magnetic wires can present excellent soft magnetic properties (with coercivities up to 4 A/m), Giant Magneto-impedance effect, GMI, or rectangular hysteresis loops combined with quite fast domain wall, DW, propagation.

Optimized Voltage-Induced Control of Magnetic Domain-Wall Propagation in Hybrid Piezoelectric/Magnetostrictive Devices

open access: yesActuators, 2021
A theory of voltage-induced control of magnetic domain walls propagating along the major axis of a magnetostrictive nanostrip, tightly coupled with a ceramic piezoelectric, is developed in the framework of the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation.

Gravitational waves propagation in nondynamical Chern-Simons gravity

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the propagation of gravitational waves in linearized Chern-Simons (CS) modified gravity by considering two nondynamical models for the coupling field $\theta$: (i) a domain wall and (ii) a surface layer of $\theta$, motivated by their ...

Phenomenological description of the nonlocal magnetization relaxation in magnonics, spintronics, and domain-wall dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A phenomenological equation called Landau-Lifshitz-Baryakhtar (LLBar) equation, which could be viewed as the combination of Landau-Lifshitz (LL) equation and an extra "exchange damping" term, was derived by Baryakhtar using Onsager's relations.

Controlling of the single domain wall propagation in magnetic microwires by magnetostatic interaction

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices
Ultrafast magnetization switching through the single domain wall (DW) propagation has been reported in amorphous micrometric and submicrometric wires. However the performance of prospective devices utilizing DW propagation is determined by the degree to ...

On the speed of domain walls in thin nanotubes: the transition from the linear to the magnonic regime

open access: yes, 2019
Numerical simulations of domain wall propagation in thin nanotubes when an external magnetic field is applied along the nanotube axis have shown an unexpected behavior described as a transition from a linear to a magnonic regime.

Current-driven domain wall motion along ferromagnetic strips with periodically-modulated perpendicular anisotropy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The dynamics of magnetic domain walls along ferromagnetic strips with spatially modulated perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is theoretically studied by means of micromagnetic simulations.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Magnetic domain wall motion in nanoscale multiferroic devices under the combined action of magnetostriction, Rashba effect and dry-friction dissipation

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2018
The one-dimensional propagation of magnetic domain walls in a ferromagnetic nanostrip is investigated analytically in the framework of the extended Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation.
