PV Domestic Hot Water System [PDF]
PV production and the consumptions of the building on which the PV is installed are not always in phase. In such a context, a coupling between PV production and local thermal systems can be an interesting solution to convert produced electricity into heat, thus storing it locally more easily than in electrochemical devices.

Optimizing production efficiencies of hot water units using building energy simulations - Trade-off between Legionella pneumophila contamination risk and energy efficiency [PDF]
The energy needed for domestic hot water represents an important share in the total energy use of well-insulated and airtight buildings. One of the main reasons for this high energy demand is that hot water is produced at temperatures above 60°C to ...

Heat Loss Due to Domestic Hot Water Pipes
Domestic hot water (DHW) system energy losses are an important part of energy consumption in newly built or in reconstructed apartment buildings. To reach nZEB or low energy building targets (renovation cases) we should take these losses into account ...

Numerical Simulation of a Solar Domestic Hot Water System
An innovative transient numerical model is presented for the simulation of a solar Domestic Hot Water (DHW) system. The solar collectors have been simulated by using a zerodimensional analytical model. The temperature distributions in the heat transfer fluid and in the water inside the tank have been evaluated by one-dimensional models.
