Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment of Human H5N1 Infection From Consumption of Fluid Cow's Milk
ABSTRACT The spillover of H5N1 clade 2.3.4.4b into dairy cattle has raised concerns over the safety of fluid milk. While no foodborne infection has been reported in humans, this strain has infected at least 70 people, and milk from infected cows is known to be infected by ingestion of multiple other species.

This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

Conservation Status of Two Italian Local Poultry Breeds: Faraona Camosciata and Oca Padovana
ABSTRACT The present study aimed to assess the conservation status and characterize the phenotypic and genomic diversity of two endangered Italian poultry genetic resources to guide their conservation plans. Blood samples and morphometric data were collected on 50 Faraona Camosciata (FAC, Numida meleagris) and 50 Oca Padovana (OPD, Anser anser) adult ...

Fibroepithelial Hamartoma in a Domestic Pig
Veterinary Pathology, 2007This case report is the first description of a fibroepithelial hamartoma in a pig. The dysplasia, which covered half of the face of the newborn piglet, did not increase in relative size until the animal was euthanatized at 6 months of age. Histologic examination revealed a moderate orthokeratotic hyperkeratosis with variable degrees of epithelial ...

Fluoride Pharmacokinetics in the Domestic Pig
Journal of Dental Research, 1982Plasma fluoride concentrations were studied in 11 pigs following single oral or intravenous doses of fluoride. The results showed a less-than-20% bioavailability of fluoride when administered with calcium-rich food. Pharmacokinetic analyses showed that the plasma half-life varied from 0.6 to 1.4 h, depending on diet and route of fluoride administration.

Death caused by a domestic pig attack
Forensic Science, Medicine and Pathology, 2021The primary medico-legal investigation goal in deaths due to animal attacks is distinguishing between animal-related injuries and potential homicidal wounds. We report the case of a 49-year-old male found dead in his farm's pigsty, where a sow and her piglets were present.

SKIN TENSION LINES IN THE DOMESTIC PIG
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1976The skin tension lines of the domestic pig have been mapped. With a 6mm punch biopsy, local relative skin forces can be determined. The influence of various factors (such as age, fat deposition, gascial attachments, and previous scarring) on the direction of the skin tension lines is discussed.

Photoreceptor density of the domestic pig retina
Veterinary Ophthalmology, 1999The spatial distribution and densities of photoreceptors in seven whole‐mounted porcine retinas were studied and maps illustrating photoreceptor topography were constructed. Total photoreceptor densities ranged from to 83 000 to 200 000 cells/mm2, with a mean of 138 500 cells/mm2.
