Application of nanoparticles in domestic refrigerators
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2008Abstract The reliability and performance of a domestic refrigerator with nanoparticles in the working fluid was investigated experimentally. Mineral oil with TiO2 nanoparticles mixtures were used as the lubricant instead of Polyol-ester (POE) oil in the 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC134a) refrigerator.

Domestic refrigerators: recent developments
International Journal of Refrigeration, 1996Abstract The refrigerator/freezer is one of the most important and the biggest energy-consuming home appliances. There are several literature references that discuss the historical development of refrigeration 1–14 . Most of them, however, consider historical highlights up to several decades ago. This paper summarizes recent developments in the field

A smart domestic refrigerator with energy efficiency improvement
2019 IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems (APCCAS), 2019This paper proposes hardware revision of a conventional domestic refrigerator: a Wi-Fi enabled main control board design with backward compatibility with existing peripherals are explained. A simple learning algorithm is also implemented on the microcontroller to maximize system efficiency while maintaining temperature at food safety limit or user's ...

Experimental studies of isobutane (R600a) as the refrigerant in domestic refrigeration system
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2002Abstract This paper presents an experimental study on the performance of a domestic vapor-compression refrigeration system with isobutane (R600a) as the refrigerant. The input power of the compressor varied between 230 and 300 W, while the amount of the charged refrigerant was about 150 g. The expansion and heat transfer components of the system were

Temperatures in domestic refrigerators
2001A survey was carried out in France in 1999 in order to monitor the air temperature in domestic refrigerators and the analysis of factors which may affect this temperature. Temperatures were recorded at three levels (top, middle and bottom of the refrigerator compartment) along one week.

Conserving energy in domestic refrigerators through the use of refrigerant mixtures

The analysis on the domestic refrigeration market
2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011This paper describes the basic situation of domestic and foreign refrigerating transportation. It analyses and compares the development of refrigerated truck and railway refrigerated lorry. Meanwhile, the paper probes into the some practical measures of refrigerated transport in the following aspects like, reforming refrigerated transportation ...

Domestic refrigerator air temperatures and the public's awareness of refrigerator use
International Journal of Environmental Health Research, 1997This study chose 50 households in the Christchurch suburb of Papanui. The householders in this area represent a wide age and income range, there is a good mix of old and new housing stock, and most of the homes are owner/occupied with a small smattering of rental accommodation.
