Boron Bioaccumulation by the Dominant Macrophytes Grown in Various Discharge Water Environments

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2021
Turkey has the largest boron (B) reserves in the world (> 70 %). Therefore, the land and water resources in Turkey contaminated with high concentration of B Pollution due to mining and industrial operations. This study investigates the accumulation of B in aquatic macrophytes soil and water in the both mining and municipal waste water discharges.

Proton-Dominated Reversible Aqueous Zinc Batteries with an Ultraflat Long Discharge Plateau

ACS Nano, 2021
Aqueous zinc batteries (AZBs) are considered promising candidates for large-scale energy storage systems because of their low cost and high safety. However, currently developed AZB cathodes always suffer from the intense charge repulsion of multivalent-ion and complex multiphase electrochemistry, resulting in an insufficient cycling life and ...

Seizure outcomes after anterior callosotomy in patients with posterior-dominant and with anterior-dominant epileptiform discharges

Child's Nervous System, 2001
We wished to find whether there was any difference in the postoperative seizure outcome between patients with bisynchronous anterior-dominant and those with posterior-dominant EDs after anterior callosotomy.Seizure outcomes after anterior callosotomy in 7 patients with bisynchronous posterior-dominant epileptiform discharges and in 54 patients with ...

Determination of Dominant Influencing Factors on Partial Discharge Inception Voltage

2023 IEEE 14th International Symposium on Diagnostics for Electrical Machines, Power Electronics and Drives (SDEMPED), 2023
With the increasing interest in adopting higher DC link voltage and fast switching devices in electric drives for electrified transportation, the partial discharge (PD) risk of electrical machines boosts compromising the drive integrity. The PD inception mechanism is simultaneously affected by both ambient conditions and voltage characteristics.

Identifying a dominant discharge for natural rivers in southern Italy

Geomorphology, 2012
Abstract Natural rivers are subjected to continuous adjustments in response to any change in the environment. These environmental changes may occur naturally, as in the case of climatic variation or changes in vegetative cover, or may be related to human activities including channelization, damming, bank protection, and bridge construction ...

Dominant discharge periodicities and their attenuation in rivers of Sweden

2022
<p>Hydropower regulations may significantly increase the variability of flow when compared with the natural hydrological regime to which river ecosystems have evolved over long time periods. This can be detrimental for river habitats and for many organisms.

Cathode fall-dominated Ar discharge: Transient and steady-state experiments

Journal of Applied Physics, 1999
The time-dependent transition of an Ar discharge from a low-current diffuse or Townsend discharge to a moderately high-current diffuse or abnormal discharge is investigated. We measure the current, voltage, and optical emission transients after a high-voltage pulse is superimposed on the direct current voltage of the low-current discharge.

Effects of inelastic collisions in low-temperature, diffusion-dominated discharges

Journal of Plasma Physics, 1968
A numerical iteration procedure has been used to obtain the solution of an integrodifferential (linear) equation which gives the energy distribution of the electrons of a low-temperature, diffusion-dominated discharge. The equation takes explicitly into account the effects of inelastic electron-neutral collisions.
