Dominant Frequency of Ventricular Fibrillation During Ischemia and Reperfusion
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and MedicineVentricular fibrillation (VF) in dogs is characterized by a rapid increase in its dominant frequency during the 1st minute of reperfusion followed by its decrease during the 2nd minute of reperfusion. The longer is ischemia in VF, the greater is the increase in dominant VF frequency during reperfusion.

Evolution of dominance under frequency-dependent intraspecific competition
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2008A population-genetic analysis is performed of a two-locus two-allele model, in which the primary locus has a major effect on a quantitative trait that is under frequency-dependent disruptive selection caused by intraspecific competition for a continuum of resources. The modifier locus determines the degree of dominance at the trait level.

The noise influence on determination dominant frequencies of EGG signal
2009 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2009Electrogastrographic examination (EGG) can be considered as a noninvasive method for an investigation of a stomach slow wave propagation This paper presents a method for determining dominant frequencies. It also shows details of influence of a noise on dominant frequencies determination.

Anesthesia with propofol slows atrial fibrillation dominant frequencies
Computers in Biology and Medicine, 2008The mechanisms responsible for the maintenance of atrial fibrillation (AF) are not completely understood yet. It has been demonstrated that AF can be modulated by several cardiac diseases, the autonomic nervous system and even drugs with purportedly no antiarrhythmic properties.

Determination of dominant simulated spindle frequency with different methods
Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2006Accurate analysis of EEG sleep spindle frequency is challenging. The frequency content of true sleep spindles is not known. Therefore, simulated spindle activity was studied in the present work. Five types of simulated test signals were designed, all containing a dominant spindle represented by a 13-Hz sine wave as such or with a waxing and waning ...

Fast Compressive Sensing Based on Dominant Frequency Estimation
2015 IEEE 12th International Conference on Mobile Ad Hoc and Sensor Systems, 2015This work investigates the theoretical analysis to enable fast and accurate estimation of dominant frequencies from randomly sampled signals by compressive sensing (CS). We show that dominant frequencies can be discovered using partially computed Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT).

Osteopetrosis: review of dominant cases and frequency in a Brazilian State
Acta geneticae medicae et gemellologiae, 1961SummaryEleven reports of osteopetrosis due to dominant genes (table 1) establish in a firm basis the existence of such a genetic variant. By personal interview with all radiologists and orthopedists of Pòrto Alegre and larger Rio Grande do Sul cities, an estimate of 1: 100,000 was obtained for the frequency of osteopetrosis in this Brazilian State.

Fundamental and dominant frequency in bird vocalizations
