Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

Total domination and least domination in a tree
A subset \(X\) of the vertex set \(V(G)\) of a graph \(G\) is called dominating (or total dominating) in \(G\), if for each \(x\in V(G)- X\) (or for each \(x\in V(G)\), respectively) there exists \(y\in X\) adjacent to \(x\). The least number of vertices of a dominating (or total dominating) set in \(G\) is the domination number \(\gamma(G)\) (or the ...

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is of huge importance, resulting in over 1 million deaths each year. Here, we describe how a new drug, enmetazobactam, designed to help fight resistant bacterial diseases, inhibits a key enzyme (GES‐1) responsible for AMR. Our data show it is a more potent inhibitor than the related tazobactam, with high‐level computation

Gamma-Set Domination Graphs. I: Complete Biorientations of \u3cem\u3eq-\u3c/em\u3eExtended Stars and Wounded Spider Graphs [PDF]
The domination number of a graph G, γ(G), and the domination graph of a digraph D, dom(D) are integrated in this paper. The γ-set domination graph of the complete biorientation of a graph G, domγ(G) is created.

A subset \(S\) of the vertex set \(V(G)\) of a graph \(G\) is called dominating in \(G\), if each vertex of \(G\) either is in \(S\), or is adjacent to a vertex of \(S\). If, moreover, the subgraph \(\langle S\rangle\) of \(G\) induced by \(S\) contains no circuit, then \(S\) is an acyclic dominating set in \(G\).

Mutations in the C9orf72 gene represent the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disease. Using patient‐derived neurons and C. elegans models, we find that the nucleoporin Nup107 is dysregulated in C9orf72‐associated ALS. Conversely, reducing Nup107 levels mitigates disease‐related changes.

From Domination to a Caring Ecology: Healing Paradigms and Creative Practices for the Apprenticene
This article explores, in four main sections, the idea of designing and applying human-environment paradigms. First, Caring Ecology criteria for human-environment paradigms are proposed that combine the principles of caring in Partnership Studies, with ...
