Diagonally Dominant Principal Component Analysis [PDF]
We consider the problem of decomposing a large covariance matrix into the sum of a low-rank matrix and a diagonally dominant matrix, and we call this problem the "Diagonally-Dominant Principal Component Analysis (DD-PCA)". DD-PCA is an effective tool for designing statistical methods for strongly correlated data.

Differential Dissipativity Theory for Dominance Analysis [PDF]
High-dimensional systems that have a low-dimensional dominant behavior allow for model reduction and simplified analysis. We use differential analysis to formalize this important concept in a nonlinear setting. We show that dominance can be studied through linear dissipation inequalities and an interconnection theory that closely mimics the classical ...

Modelling dominance in a flexible intercross analysis [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to develop a flexible model for analysis of quantitative trait loci (QTL) in outbred line crosses, which includes both additive and dominance effects. Our flexible intercross analysis (FIA) model accounts for QTL that are not fixed within founder lines and is based on the variance component framework.

Linkage analysis in dominant acrocephalosyndactyly. [PDF]
Linkage analysis was performed on a previously reported family in which multiple dominantly inherited acrocephalosyndactyly syndromes were present. An underlying axiom of linkaged analysis is that the trait analysed be monogenic. This prerequisite was presumptively established in the single kindred analysed because acrocephalosyndactyly was observed in

Male Domination in Helen Garner’s Monkey Grip
The difference between man and woman is not based on the biological aspect but on how society makes it. Women are formed by their community, where they are against discrimination. Moreover, the prejudices reveal language use, including in literary works.
