Automated EEG analysis: Characterizing the posterior dominant rhythm

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2011
Automated interpretation of clinical EEG recordings will reduce subjectivity and visual bias from analysis and can reduce the time required for interpretation. As a first step in the design of a fully automated system, a method is presented to characterize the main properties of the posterior dominant rhythm (PDR), in particular its frequency, symmetry

Role Analysis of Dominant and Non-dominant Hand in Daily Life

2013 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2013
In order to develop useful assistive devices, analyses and understanding of human functions are necessary. We recorded the activities of daily living, and classified the usage of both hands using the vocabulary of ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) approved by WHO.

Attention and visual dominance: A chronometric analysis.

Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1977
Three chronometric experiments, each comparing vision and kinesthesis, were conducted to study visual dominance. The time required to switch attention from vision and from kinesthesis was equal, while switching to kinesthesis was faster than switching to vision (Experiment 1).

The dominance of traits in genetic analysis

Journal of the History of Biology, 1991
In the modern interpretation of Mendelism, facts are being transformed into factors at a rapid rate. If one factor will not explain the facts, then two are invoked; if two prove insufficient, three will sometimes work out. The superior jugglery sometimes necessary to account for the results may blind us, if taken too naively, to the common-place that ...

Bayesian analysis of linear dominance hierarchies

Animal Behaviour, 2005
Studies on social animals often seek to identify dominance hierarchies, in which individuals are ranked according to competitive abilities based on counts of wins and losses in pairwise encounters. I illustrate Bayesian approaches, based on the method of paired comparisons, for determining ranks and for estimating relationships between dominance ...

Biodiversity analysis using dominant markers

2005
Proučavanje i analiza biljne genetske raznolikosti nužna je u svrhu učinkovite upotrebe raspoložive bioraznolikosti u kreiranju novih kultivara. Obzirom na ubrzani napredak tehnika molekularne genetike, analiza genetske raznolikosti na temelju biljega na razini DNA postala je brza i učinkovita. Za razliku od morfoloških svojstava, biljezi na razini DNA
