Abstract Infragravity waves (IGWs) are long‐period ocean waves that bridge the atmosphere, ocean, solid Earth and polar ice, influencing sea level measurements, coastal sediment transport, the breakup of Antarctic ice shelves and the excitation of Earth's seismic hum. We collected ocean‐bottom pressure data recorded by approximately 700 pressure gauges

Abstract Lyginopteridalean fossil fronds found abundantly in deposits of the Pennsylvanian‐age (late Carboniferous) coal swamps have historically been identified as Eusphenopteris neuropteroides. However, these fossils have been referred by Van Amerom to three distinct fossil‐species: E. schumannii, E. neuropteroides and E. leonardii.

A Novel Approach to Tsunami Prediction Using Ambient Noise‐Derived Green's Functions
Abstract Conventional tsunami simulations rely on accurate bathymetric data, posing challenges in regions lacking such information. We introduce a novel approach using ambient noise interferometry to derive empirical Green's functions of infragravity waves from noise correlation functions (NCFs) extracted from a 10‐year Deep‐ocean Assessment and ...

Aulacogens, the Donets Basin (Eastern Ukraine, Southwestern Russia), and the new classification of rifts: Towards a proper terminology [PDF]
Some intra-cratonic basins are traditionally called “aulacogens”. This term has persisted in the geoscience literature since its invention by Soviet geologists in the mid-20th century before the triumph of the plate tectonics, but its meaning ...
